  2. so i installed the belltech drop leafs a while ago, but i cant deal with the ride anymore, the roads in my town r not forgiving and when i take my truck to jobs (demolition) its just not fun for the passengers. i want to go back to my stock leafs and have the stock feel, what do i need to do to get my desired height drop. the front is a 2inch spindles the rear is mayb a 3 or 4, but it sit level, what do i need to use between hangers, shackles and shocks to get stock feel with the same drop i am now...?????????

  9. When did I say everything you bought was worthless? Please tell me. You came here looking for advice, and I gave you MY OPINION based on personal experience, that's all, take it as you may. :chillpill:

Your trans may just have a broken band, or a broken sprag, you won't know until you tear it down. Usually when one piece fails it takes alot of other parts with it.....it snowballs. You have to expect the worst from the get go, for the most part you cannot just replace 1 piece and hope that its fixed. Going with a built unit would save you a lot of heartache IMO.

Your TC will need to be sent back to Yank to be cleaned out......search that very converter here on this forum and you will see exactly what I was referencing in my earlier post. Also make sure your main & aux trans coolers get flushed out too.

no no no, bro i wasnt attacking ur advice, im just trying to put this all together so i have some type of plan..sorry if i came off that way...im just ina bad mood cause of the situation, between u and mr p ive been understanding alot of what happened andwhat steps i need to do to move forward...right now im on the hunt for a trans shop then ill go from there , its only money right?..haha welll again sorry if i came off that way and i appreciate the help..

  10. At a minimum, you will find the band gone meaning also that the drum has a 50/50 chance of being saved. If you are going to convert to the Alto wide band then that will require a new drum (your existing drum already has a wear pattern in it from a stock width band). Do not be surprised once you get it open that all the other frictions/steels are shot, budget for that. Also find out why the band failed, maybe from incorrect pin length on servo pin? Anyways doing *just that* (refreshing frictions) and little else typically costs anywhere from $700-900 depending on parts costs, markup, and professional labor assuming you are doing the removal & reinstall. If you've got some chewed-up hard parts then the price goes up from there pretty quickly. You will not know what is useable until you get the tranny apart, every time I've gotten into mine it's cost $1000-2000 each episode :(

    Mr. P.

def an expensive hobby. well i just need to find a shop who wants to work with me on this. my last shop was recently bought out and want nothing to do with mine...so this is my main concern. well thanks alot for your help, i appreciate it. ill be back once im making some progress, most likely after the tear down. thanks again.!

  11. At this stage of the game, go for a built unit, the cost will be near the same as rebuilding the old unit IMO. There are many great builders out there who have proven results and a great track record, FLT, Rossler, Performabuilt, HPM, etc. You may want to reconsider your TC choice also, I see you have a Yank TT2600...there have been many horror stories here involving those units. You may be better off going with a Yank SC Series, PI, or TCS converter.......

so now everything i bought is worthless, seems like i wasted alot of money, i mean it lasted me a yr and half, now for some reason i need a built one over a band, so tht means buy a new trans. add what ever i need to make it complete, install it, retune the truck..idef dont have the kind of money this time of year. theres no other way..?
