  1. Guys, my a/c only blows from the defrost vents, but the controls show that it should be coming from the vents. Also, I thought you should be able to turn the recir. function on and off, but when I push that button it flashes several times, and then just stays on. I did the search, but found nothing similar. Anyone had this problem? thanks

  2. Instead of taking my truck to friday night test and tune/grudge wars, went to Richmond with some friends from work (all Mustangs guys btw). Anyway, thought it would be fun just to go up and run the truck and air it out good one last time for the year. Got 2 time runs, 9.23 and 9.24, so I dialed 9.20. 1st round Mustang GT w/KeeneB 7.65 dial. He sleept on the light and run a 7.61 to my 9.18, he broke out more. I could'nt believe I broke out, so changed my dial to 9.17. 2nd rnd another GT dial 9.37, I run a 9.26 and won. 3rd rnd by and ran 9.19. Semi rnd I get a honda dialing 11.32, we run and both break out him worse 11.26 to my 9.15. Well for my runnerup spot I ran another 9.19 and got my first trophy. I did'nt expect to go more than a round maybe 2, but went to the end and got a new best and had a sh#t eatin grin all day. Had a blast.

  3. Man, I would'nt have thought, mainly by the numbers at the track. The guys a friend of mine, and I have seen the car run the 1/8th. This to is a full on street car, his daily driver. I just thought that he should be runnin a bit faster for putting down 500+. BTW it is a D1sc he has, manual trans, and he runs slicks at the track.

  4. Hey guys, wanted to get your thoughts on this. This guy at work has added a ProCharger, Cold air, LT's and MAC cat back, and claims 539 to the wheels using SCT. I dont believe it. He runs 11.7's in the 1/4. Just wanted to see what some of you thought about this. I can believe 430ish

  5. i smell bullshit, with a cold air intake headers and a stat with a tune you are NOT running a 9.32 and they are a hell of a lot faster than 9.8 in an 1/8 with a 100 shot of nitrous i'm only running a 8.89 and i have what i got in my signature.... bone stock my ss ran a 9.83 in the 1/8.. i know better than that dude...

Easy bud :) no need for all that. But back to the times of my truck. If you dont believe (sp) the 9.32, you sure ain't gonna believe that it ran a 9.24, and that was minus the headers, but let me add that it was only 55 degrees, back in late April. That was the first time for the truck on the track. Run after that was a 9.27. Now the truck has'nt run those numbers since, it is more like 9.4-5 consistently. Couple guys over on pt.net have seen it run the 9.4's. As for the 9.3, that run was Friday before last I let my son run, and he beat a R/T Charger, which was bone stock. I was surprised, but it happened nonetheless, and have the video of that. Only reason I posted to this thread was to let you know what I have seen here in my area, and to be sociable. As for your 8.89, bud that is a helluva alot to my 9.whatevers drag racing, to me anyway. Funny, I posted in the track section about that first night for me at the track that those times were run, and there were alot of 9.3's that night also. And not one person that replied to that thread called BS, in fact one gave me some advice. But you think what you want

  6. forgot to add, as far as the 1/8 they will beat an ss with few mods, gonna take more than a cai, tune, 160 stat, and a servo... but no much more.. i say put some headers on it a small stall and you got it..... as far as the 1/4 it's is damn close guys, i couldn't actually tell you who won unless we actually went to the track and ran... damn close... a few extra mods or a little nitrous or a stall and they are done for.

Hmmm, I beat one in the 1/8. Ran a 9.32 to his 9.8.

  7. Hey Autoguy, got the stripes yesterday, and took them to work this morning and had our painter put them on. Man, those things look really good. Very happy with the design and quality. You see SSS's around here, not as many as you would think, but I like the fact that mine looks different than the rest. Thanks

    Rick

  8. We are working on getting you the insert.. Jon has the note and your address in front of him at his desk..As soon as we get one you will get it....I'll also try to send you a shirt for your problems.....

Hey Glen, thanks man....dont get me wrong...I'm not mad that they dont have one. It's not their fault the dipshit painter trashed it with the box. I was just curious to know if there was another means of getting one without having to trouble the folks at Goodmark. I'm sure Jon is doing what he can to get it, so please know that I am by no means dissatisfied (sp) with you or Jon's efforts of getting a replacement.

  9. Guys, have a bit of a problem. recieved a Ram Air hood, and when it was painted I told the guy to save the box. Well, he did'nt, and when he trashed the box, he also trashed the trim piece that goes in the front of the scoop. I called Goodmark to try and buy a replacement about 2 weeks ago. The guy (Jon) was pretty cool about it. I called him again today to see about it, but he said he had'nt gotten any in, and it may be a month or so before he could get one. I'm sure he is doing what he can, but does anyone know of anywhere else that may have replacements. Just curious, the hood looks like crap without it :banghead:

  10. If you want better reaction times, you could try deep staging. I did that when I first started bracket racing two years ago. I could get consistant .007-.042 lights. It cuts your ET down a little though. I don't deep stage anymore as I've gotten used to the lights now. I usually try to go every other Wednesday night during racing season, although I only went about 9 times last year. I've got 12 trophies from races I've won in the past two years. It's very addicting.

Thanks for the pointer....I will definitely try that. With the MOV, I could have beaten the SC Cobalt and M3 if I had'nt been so slow on the lights.

  11. Glad to hear you've been bitten by the bracket bug! You're right...it's very fun, addictive, and very expensive! Welcome to the bracket club...I thought I was the only one!

Thanks, now all I need to do is work on the reaction times...first time out, was worried about red lighting. Did'nt want to lose that way, but I will learn. Need to do some modding too. :driving:

  12. Well guys, took the SSS to the track for my first experience bracket racing. What a blast, although my reaction times sucked :banghead: 1st time run was a SC Cobalt SS, jumped him out the hole ( 1/8th mile btw ) but he beat me to the line by about a half car. Dont know much about those cars, but I was tickled that he only beat me by that much for a heads up run. 2nd time run against 03 Suburban, killed him by 5 lengths. 3rd time run against a BMW M3, and he got me by 2 lengths. My 3 times runs were as follows 9.253; 9.342; 9.271. Not even gonna mention reaction times LOL. Elimination rounds I get stuck with the damn BMW. I dialed a 9.26, and just as we were called to the lanes I was thinking of change dial to 9.30 but did'nt. M3 dial was 8.50. I take off and SSS is digging, but I dont see the M3, and think, damn were is he. He just nipped me at the traps. Should have changed to the 30, so I saywhat the hell, buy back and try again. Get called to staging lanes....DAMN IT....M3 again. This time I dial the 9.30 and he had changed his to 8.47. End result, he gets me again by 1 length, and I called it night. All in all, I was happy with the showing I gave, and I am hooked. Time for some more mods :driving: . Side note, my buddy brought his GTO (436 rwhp) and on his 2nd time run and snapped the stock CV type axles.
