  1. I just mounted a set of Yokohama Parada Spec X (275/55-20). They aren't the most aggressive tread pattern, but are speed rated, a little stiffer in the sidewall, and grip like crazy in both wet and dry. And they have been a fantastic snow tire here in Northern Wisconsin. Take a look!!

I got them locally, installed OTD for about $750.

Tire rack rates them very well - and many of the users have outstanding comments.

  2. I ran the VIN# on my 2004 GMC VHO and found a valve on the intake manifold. GM PN# 12582627, A/C Delco PN# 214-1689. The GM catalog calls it an "evaporative emmissions canister purge solenoid valve", it also had a gasket underneath it too (like an EGR valve would). Might this be your problem or at least what you are asking for?

Hmm . . . On my Grand Prix - that is exactly where the cannister solenoid was located. But I had read several posts on here that commented the purge valve, and tubing was located in a cannister above the fuel tank under the box of the truck.

I am pretty handy and can do the switch myslef - if I know where it is and what I need to do!!

I will take a look this weekend for myslef and see if I can get some clarification.

    Thanks for the help, though!!

  3. Well I keep pulling the Evap Code 04990 on the CEL. Looks like I need to R&R the evap cannister vent valve. I saw a few posts that indicated I would change the tubing in the cannister - but how do I go about doing this and does anyone have part numbers??

  4. I was at the dealer this past weekend for the heck of it and looked at a couple of the new Silverado's. Looking at the rear doors they are quite different, it would take a good amount of work to have the hinges work on the "classic" style. I'm not saying that it couldn't be done, just not sure that it would be worth it.

Man O' Man - if it was easy, I would be all over it!! With 2 kids in car seats, open doors would work great!!

  5. I am all for adding my name . . . PM me for all details.

FYI - we did the same sort of petitition as part of ClubGP (Grand Prix) and that actually resulted in GM creating an actual recall to repair leaking/failing magnasteer II steering boxes. So it can work.

We must just remain positive, professional, and most of all, conssistent. Continue to push for answers, but we most remain 100% professional. We will get much more respect that way!

  6. OK - I am taking this off Saturday - and seeing no interest, I will be cutting up the system into three sections.

    front section (cat to muffs)

    middle section (muffs to tips)

    stainless slant tips

I will take pictures saturday of the cleaned up tips and mufflers as long as we don't have 15 freakin' inches of snow(you gotta love Michigan - 60 degrees yesterday - Blizard tomorrow)

  7. So my new Corsa Sport arrived today, and I will be removing the Flowmaster exhaust that came with the truck this week.I will clean it up (the tips are nearly perfect - just dirty right now) and take some more pics as soon as the Corsa is on.

I have no idea what this would be worth - but I can tell you its a custom welded, dual muffler, cat back, with FlowMaster 40 series mufflers. Long, slanted 4 inch tips on both sides, exiting just behind the rear wheels. It is alluminized pipe all the way back to the tips (which are stainless).

This system is LOUD - not as loud as my C5 with LG longtubes and Borla Stingers - but not much quiter at WOT. Very muscular - reminds me of an older big block. I believe Fuel Slut has heard them and can vouch for the sound and mileage. The exhaust has about 5000 miles on it (the truck only had 9300 miles when I bought it last month!!) but it has seen 2 winters. So it has some surface rust.

I was thinking $350 + shipping for the whole thing - or if no interest, I will carve it up and sell it piece by piece. Exhaust is in Kalamazoo, MI

    Here are some pics!

  8. I will have a catback Flowmaster (40 series - I think) system available in 1-2 weeks (awaiting my new Corsa system). It's about a year old , dual exits behind each wheel with stainless tips. It is very muscular (too loud for me, though)

    I am in Kalamazoo!

    Michael

Is it a kit or something you had made? I dont think the 40's come in a kit. Is it dual mufflers? How much?

Sorry about the long delay - I was out of town on vacation (Palm Springs - man is it tough to come back to Michigan after a week in SoCal).

It came on the truck (bought a few weeks ago) - and it looks like an alluminized, custom, dual muffler catback with stainless tips. I don't have pics yet - but can take a few tonight and post. I would guess it's worth about $350 plus shipping from Kalamazoo.

It is a little too loud for a daily driver (for my taste).

  9. Not to thread jack but what is the diffrence in the 2 fob's? 1 & 2?

As I understand it - each remote is specific to the memory settings. I only have remote #2 - and it recognizes me as driver 2. I was told that I need a #1 remote to access the memory #1 slot.

Unless that is not true - in whcih case I just need any old extra Key Fob . . . Can anyone confirm this?

  10. Just like the title says. I have checked Ebay, and can only find pairs or #2 Fobs. Anyone have an extra #1?

Ebay prices are $19.95 for one or $39.95 for two. I would pay you $25 shipped for a #1 Fob with a working battery (or $20 shipped if ithe battery is dead . . .)

PM me with info - I can do Pay Pal.

    Michael

  11. So I picked up the SS on Wednesday evening - and after 3 days I can honestly say that the dual flowmaster catback to dual exits behind the rear wheels has to go. I do love the sound at WOT, but I just am not a fan of the tone at anything less than WOT.

My plan is to put on a set of Corsa Sports - great prices shipped at Pace by the way) but will I be able to sell these flowmasters for anything?

How do I figure out 40 or 50 series? I will post up some pics later this weekend.

  12. Thanks for the input so far! Now it looks like I should start looking for a new, or gently used Corsa Sport. Any ideas on best price vendors? I have not been all that impressed with TByrne in the Corvette community. . .

I'm thinking of selling the Flowmaster too! It's getting louder over time... plus it doesn't give any power...I lost 10 mph on the 1/4.  :wtf: I am looking at Corsa now.

And as for the 10MPH loss in the quarter, my truck is red - so that shouldn't be a problem!!

  13. So I will be picking up my 03 SS in a few days.

One of the things I am a little concerned about, though, is the exhaust.

I believe it is a Flowmaster 40 series that is already installed. It looks like it is a completely alluminized cat back system (which in Michigan means I will be looking for another system in no time at all - dayum salt trucks!!)

I need to quiet the exhaust a bit, though. I carry a lot of business people (and the wife and kids) and they would not be as impressed as I am!! Let me make it clear, though . . . I am no stranger to loud - have LG Long Tubes and Borla Stinger Quads on the the C5 - but I would like to quiet the truck a bit.

I have seen several people say a well placed X-pipe will decrease the in cabin resonance. Is it worth it or should I just put on a Corsa Sport (stainless) and sell the flowmasters on Ebay (or here)??

    :pop:

  14. Well I put a deposit down on a Vicotry Red '03 SSS this weekend. It is the one from the Detorit area with only 9400 miles. As soon as the title clears its lein - I will be heading home with this beauty!!:thumbs: It is in fantastic shape - and the owner was very willing to work with me to get a price that was acceptable to both of us.

Already has a Rhino liner and tonneau cover, as well as a few personal touches - most of which I like.

It also comes with a CAI, Predator Tuner, and Flowmaster catback exhaust!! I may need to look for a little bit quieter exhaust, though - so I will be looking for advice.

I will get some pics up as soon as its in the driveway. I ahve to admit, I haven't been this excited since I bought my Corvette!! :driving:

  15. is there a phone number that i can reach  your friend at?

You could have the number - but he would tell you that he sold it to me!!!:cheers:

Should have it by next week!

    Michael

    2003 Victory Red SSS

IF YOU BOUGHT IT WHY WILL YOU HAVE IT NEXTED WEEK? CONGRATS!! ILL HAVE ONE SOON AS WELL!!

I should have said I put a deposit on it and am waiting for his title to clear the lein. I will pay the rest of it when I pick up the truck next week!!
