  2. We are looking at used 2001 KME heavy rescue. ( Im not a big fan of the deal at all ). We already Have a 1999 pumper 1500 2 stange pump KME , and we like it so , That's we are staying with KME .The ative force voted last nit to keep the supthen pumper . So We are selling our 1992 ford/sulbury rescue. The rescue is over loaded(as all trucks are), we are trying to think 10-15 years from now . We can get more meny for the ford now, then the supthen.

I see that you are from Long Island, NY .The KME Rescue that we just got is from West Islip fire company.

Need 25 people to get the tent for free, if it's less than that it will cost us 150.00. if anyone needs hotel info I can get that for you also.

  5. Oh yeah, you know what I did once? I even took out the hood latch mechanism and drilled the two holes with a drill so that the latch could go further down I removed like 1/8 ... Maybe a cowl induction hood would help relieve some of that airflow :dunno: Going at 120 with all the air coming from the front would have a definite force on the front of the hood because it's the only place it would be able to exit the engine compartment.

I look at the stops and they on the bottum of the hood, they are not pushing the hood up at all . I may play around with it .

  6. Adjusting the rubber stops will keep it from moving, but that's not the real reason why - it's because there is a 1/2" to 3/4" gap between the top of the headlight and the bottom of the hood corner allowing air to stream in between the two, air "piles up" under the front corners of the hood creating high pressure area and trying to lift the hood off like an airplane wing. The real solution is to try and keep air from going under the hood. Now that I think about it, raising the stops only worsens the problem as you increase the gap between the headlight and the leading edge of the hood.

edit - this is also why the guys owning CAIs with lids/covers discovered that by removing the lid to their CAI box they run a tenth faster in the 1/4-mile; there's a very substantial amount of air (and drag) entering over the top of the headlight.

What should I do ? Take it back to the dealer and have them fix it . Im planing on getting a cowl hood or a ram air soon. Could after market hood fix that of not ?My driver side is 3/4" gap and my pass side is 1/2" gap .

  7. I just recently purchased a 2007 LTZ ECSB. I wanted a new SS, but after looking at the new body style, I went with it instead. I found a Victory Red Vortex MAX and picked it up the next day. The following day I had OEM Chrome SS wheels put on along with Chrome Nerf Bars, Bed Rails, and Line X. I had the rear dropped 2". The LTZs come pretty well equipped. The options were, Safety Package (Side Air Bags, Adj. Pedals, RR Parking Assist.), EZ Lift Tailgate, 20" Wheels, Vortec 6.0L V8 W/ Active Fuel Mgt, XM Radio, 3.73 Rear Axle.

I'm looking forward on getting some good info from you guys.

  8. My hood looks like it is lose, when im driving . Each time I hit a bump on the road or go faster then 45- 50 . The hood looks like it will pop open, but it is closed. The driver side seem to move more then the passenger side. It was always that way, but it is driving me crazy :ughdance: It seems to me that te hood could be tiwsed. ummmm :banghead:
