  1. A little up date for those interest. It is not easy to remove and there are no bolts holding it on an 06. There are two screws in each wheel well. five push pins under the front center, two push pins under each head light and four screws above each air intake and two brackets to remove in the same location. After you take all those out you will find it is glued with two sided tape to the top the inner metal bumber (below the grill). It is a real bitch to get off the truck.
  2. Thanks, I'll figure it out easily then. Ron
  3. Do any of you have a diagram or exploded view showing how to remove the front bumper skin on my 06 Silverado SS? Someone backed into mine and dented it dead center. My neighbor fixes bumpers as part of his business. He asked me to remove the skin to save him time. I am sure I can figure it out pretty quickly but a diagram would speed things up. I found this thread. Is this the same as an SS? this diagram doesn't look like a skin that covers the bumper? LINK

  5. Just installed the shims. Real easy to do and I don't think it changed the drop hieght and the vibration is gone.
  6. Does adding the shims change drop height? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know yet, still waiting on the part. I would think it would to a small extent 1/4 inch maybe?
  7. According to Beltech you need a 2 degree shim P/N 4975. I've ordered mine but they have not arrived yet.
  8. Can't say why but can say Chev dropped the disc brakes in the rear due to many problems. My 06 has drum brakes in the rear
  9. Are all you guys AWD models because my 2WD 2006 brakes only need a big toe to stop. They work great, nothing like you guys describe
  10. Ussually means toe in is reduced. Just watch tire wear, you might want to take it to a dealership for another alignment. Some if not most third party shops likely don't have the proper specs for an 06/07 yet.
  11. I installed their 2"drop kit in my 06 a few weeks ago. It is pretty easy to install, it only takes about an hour and a half. Although it is new spindles the kit really doesn't mess with the ball joints or tie rod ends aside from pooping them out of the old spindles and back onto the new ones. I can't see how it would change things as they came from the factory. I suggest just drive it and keep an eye on tire wear. Get a wheel alignment though, mine needed one. If the steering isn't really light after an alignment and it doesn't pull, tracks straight and doesn't dog track it should be fine. If your real worried jack it up and see if there is anything loose
  12. Sorry I don't follow you with the carrier bearing relocater? 2 degree shims makes sense to me. I wonder why the Bell kit doesn't mention any of this. It's played up like all you do is bolt it in a go?
  13. Question for the experts. I lowered my 2WD 06 SSS a few days ago using the Bell Tech 2" dropped spindles and 2" lowering shackles. It's a really easy kit to install and looks great but now I have a small vibration in the rear end when I accellerate from a stop. I goes away once moving and only happens from a stand still? All I can think of is that this 2" dropped shackle must change the Pinon angle? The kit makes no mention of having to shim the angle back? Anyone else have this problem? how do you fix it?
  14. That's odd, I have the same rattle coming from behind the inst panel. I was going to mention it the next time I happen to be at a dealership?
  15. thanks, the check book has already been openned with a Billet grill and 2" drop kit from Bell!!
