  1. I live in Vegas and had red in the front for about 6 months with no issues. I didn't like the color so I changed them to amber, still no issues. I think the new Tundras have yellow for runners don't they? I have never installed my front plate either, didn't want to put holes in my bumper. The cops in Vegas are pretty laxed, unless you are racing and get caught. I've also had my cutouts wide open at a light sitting next to them, but this is in Henderson, not sure about Metro.

  2. You should be fine. I used some monster flows with my 3" set up and it's runs good. Here's some pics of my set up. They made a Y pipe at the shop for me to save on $$$, but it should have more of a point in the center. Are you stock? Having a tune will help too.

  3. Hey guys,

Sorry I've been off the site for awhile. I've been getting some emails from the some of the guys asking where and how I'm doing. Well, I've been working alot with renovations at one of the Casino's downtown in Vegas. But I've still been airbrushing and spending time working on my engine covers and other projects for other people too. I finally got my covers done, and it took a couple of months because I only spend about 4 hours per week working on them. I sanded down all the lettering and grooves down smooth on the top cover and got a cap from lowes to hide the hole. Man, was sanding those down and bondo them was a bitch, but well worth it. I'm still working on all my other engine parts right now, and can't show those just yet because they are not done. I also made a fire station sign for our local fire station, and delivered it to them last weekend. They about fell over when they finally got to see it. There was about 15 fireman all standing around the sign all in awe! I felt really good inside and had goose bumps knowing they all were so excited. Anyway, enjoy the pictures. I took some pics before and after clear coat. I have to wait a few days to install them, but I'll post some up when they installed next weekend. Hope theres not to many pics.

  4. Guys, just so everyone knows. I only have red, black, blue and yellow. When I send out the decals to people, I send about 4 or 5 of them just in case you make mistake. Another idea is for the ones who want silver or silver birch, you can use the stencil part of the decal I send you and paint the silver on yourselves. Because when I send them to you all, I send both the SS and vinyl its cut from. For this option, I can you the yellow ones. I have a bunch of those. Keep in mind, this will NOT work on billet. Trust me, I'm a painter and I tried. You have to scuff of the billet to get the paint to stick, but you will ruin the bowtie. Unless you buff and polish it out and reclear coat it. Not worth it. Just a thought.

  5. Cool, you do some good work as well, How long you been doing airbrush work?

Thanks, off and on for about 9 years. Just got back into it heavy the past two years. I'd show you my covers but they are a secret right now.

Painting true fire is one of the hardest things to paint, because of all the color stages, designs, backrounds, etc. You just have to keep practicing until you become good at it. Any pro artist will tell you that. I actually sanded my down completely and got rid of all the lettering, and ribbing from the top and used bondo. So mine is completely smooth, what a pain that was!!! When I get them done, I'll post them up.

Here's some photos you can use for airbrushing. These are just some of mine, I don't have all my photos on there yet, and some of the ones on there are the ones I did for the guys on the board. I'm still in the middle of doing all my covers right now, just been working alot and doing what I can on them.

  8. I want to see if anyone wants to swing a deal. I'm willing to paint some flames on some engine parts or what ever for a trade on a "New" intiminater wing and the hardware, hopefully one thats already victory red. I can paint something equal like a fan shroud or something. The 3 peice engine covers are usaully around $ 250 for flames, and the rear spoiler with the hardware is about $175? Not sure, but Ive seen them for sale here, and on ebay. Let me know. Then maybe down the road, I can swing some deals for you guys, because I would also like to have a stall, shift kit, NOS kit, pod with gauges, etc., and the big one, a supercharger. But I think I would have to paint flames on your whole truck for something like that. :D

  9. Looks good man. That's what I plan on doing with mine, but just been to lazy to do it. When sanding out the V-Max, did it go all the way thru? I haven't taken the insulation off the back yet to look. I've heard that the ribs are enclosed with metal too, is that true? Just need to know what I'm up against.

  10. Thanks guys for all the info. it really helped. I don't drive the truck that much, and for being 3 1/2 years old, I think 25K is really good. It's probably still in the break-in stage. It's a tough choice with all the good info. I think with the rear diff, I'll go with the RP, but like Dan and Ivan said, I'll stick with the M1 for now on the motor oil. I did price the RP at Walmart today, and it wasn't to bad. It was only $8.47 per QT. Not to bad.

    Thanks guys,

    Terry

  11. It's time for my truck to have it's scheduled maintenance. I just turned 25K and I want to use royal purple for ALL my fuilds, I.E., trans, rear diff. etc. But is it really worth the extra cash? Or is it expensive? I know that its a very good product, and I've never used it before. Can I get it at my local Auto Zone or maybe Walmart? I'm just looking for some good advise.

    Terry

  12. Well, here's some more progress photos of my airbrushed covers, but I can't show you guys to many because then you won't be surprized at the end. So here's just a few more. It looks alittle grainy because of the candy colors, but I still have alot more detail to do to clarify everything up. Some say they like it in the black and white, and some like the color. So, I'm undecided myself. Plus, I have a tremdous amount of work ahead of me on these, and I'm having alot of fun doing them. Anyway, here's some pics.

    Enjoy,

    Terry

  13. I'm looking for Justin Strong from Manitou Mich. He sent me some stamps for some SS decals for his bowtie, but didn't leave a screen name, color, or how many he would like. If anyone or himself would let me know, I can send hhim what he would like.

    Thanks,

    Terry
