  1. i was back and forth on what to get as far as a tonneau cover. one thing i was concerned was having no leakage at all!! (i move computers once a month) but i still wanted a flush tonneau cover.

flush tonneau covers definitely look the nicest if you're after a clean stealthy look however you have to consider that because of their design you're more than likely to have some moisture entering through the corners. ( i am talking about a fiberglass flush cover, i don't know much about roll and locks and soft tonneau covers)

therefore i went with gaylord's x-2000 w/ speedstur wing. it was an "over rail" cover however it is extremely skinny and doesn't even raise above the rear window.

i got my cover with every option possible: remote control, keypad entry, x-hinges (that really do reduce the effort of opening and closing by at least 50%), under-side carpeting and dome light.

it is pricy but you don't have to get all that.

anyway i am more than happy with the cover i went with, and if you opt for the flush mount just remember that you may have some moisture. however if you want an over rail mount cover that is really as flush as can be, than gaylord is the way to go, they are truly a head and shoulders above the competition. and they also matched my color perfect as well as the orange peel texture.

i do need to get some pics up of it up so you can see what i'm talking about. and one thing to remember if you do order the gaylord is to get it without the rubber gasket they put on the rim/edge of the cover. it really makes it look clean

o well... just my $0.02, anyway if you want more info on any of the covers you're considering i'll be more than glad to help. i sure did my research before i bought it and i can get you a personal opinion on pretty much any tonneau cover, as for all my buddies have pickups and we all have diff. tonneau covers.

so i will finish with this, my tonneau cover is def. the jaw dropper when put next to other covers, even when i bought it, the owner of the performance shop( which is a huge, and famous performance shop, they supply to all the other shops around South FL) had people coming around my truck to see mainly the keypad but all the other stuff my tonneau cover came with and that's that he's seen the craziest stuff done to trucks and even he was impressed by just another tonneau cover, anyway just something to consider... sorry for the long post :flag:

  2. i changed my factory window latches. i've already noticed an improvement! (note: improvement, not solution) i have heard of someone doing what i did but in addition putting petroleum jelly to seal it off like a gasket. i believe it was misterp who posted on that. but for now the aftermarket latches are great

 Yeah I had the same result with the eBay latches, great improvement but not airtight.

After one week the petroleum jelly is still working great, no leaks even at triple-digit speeds  I'm praying that when April comes I won't have it melting/dripping everywhere but for now it's good.

    Mr. P. :)

well like you said, at least it's nothing that will damage anything on your truck, maybe just result in a bit of a mess, but still.. no damage :)

keep us posted on the results of your experiment

  5. first off, i'm a med student so stuff like that doesn't bother me, may sound sick to some, but if it bothered me then how could i be doctor? or be expected to save someone's life if their stomach or neck or anything is cut open or something and it gross me out..

anyway i digress, just making sure no one thinks i'm some sick psycho...right?

anyway what hit home was i imagined myself being that girl's parents and getting a phone call that my daughter was killed and then seeing her like that. as a parent there's no way you wouldn't see the body and that must be one of the most horrible, traumatic things a parent could ever go through.

    one thing to remember...

parents should not have bury their children

in light of that when any of us make decisions that risk our life, consider the consequences, not for us (because if we did, we wouldn't do it) but for those around us, especially our loved ones. so when you're racing, if God forbid something happened to you, is this how you would want your parents to see you? would you want to put them through something like that?

just something to think about... as i will be thinking about that tonight and probably every time i feel my right foot getting heavy when i drive.

That made me cry :tear: I would never want my family or friends to have to go through something like that.

well at least i got across to someone... :happysad:

  7. look....

bottom line is.. that it sucks.. big time

i'll share with you some wisdom my father shared with me:

"anything that is on the street is going to get f%^&ed up, so don't concern yourself with it so much, because in a few years, you'll be on the next one anyway. key thing here is what is called the 4 F's: ya FIND em, ya FEEL em, ya F^&CK em, and ya FORGET em."

he told me this when i was all angry about my truck first getting hit by a another car's door and second getting vandalized.

look the first week i had my truck, someone dinged it, i parked far away and everything, and the person who did it could've parked else where too but shit happens.

last weekend someone decided to add their own racing stripes to my truck with a permanent marker ( i posted on it a few days back under "MY TRUCK GOT VANDALIZED")

fact of the matter is, no one gives a shit about you or your possessions but you. it sucks but that's the way it is.

going out and beating someone up or shooting someone is the dumbest thing ever.

at the time it may seem right (believe me i wanted to as well, i am no saint)

sometimes i could kill over the frustration, but there's nothing you can do to change it, it sucks but that's life. don't ruin your own life over a stupid car, because at the end of the day, that's what it is, a stupid car.

don't get me wrong, i love my truck, but it is still a material possession therefore to me, it isn't all that important in light of other things in my life...(get my drift?)

o well... just my $0.02 :seeya:

  8. well i read the post about the antenna delete and went to go buy part number 15113342. its the right side panel were the antenna goes without the area for the antenna. they said the new part number is 15287179. has anyone used this? i dont want to order it and it be the wrong part. because you cant return ordered parts and also the guy was kind of in a rush so i dont know if everything he gave me was 100% good. any ideas?

well if you do go through with it, please post some pics

  9. truthfully though i feel it was just some punk trying to look cool in front of his friends (probably around the age of 13-15) or some jealous prick who wants my truck but can't get his act together and afford one, but there's always that possibility that it was her ex, yet still unlikely..

  10. just put on my upgrades on saturday, noticeable difference in my gas mileage and great improvement on performance, sounds great (i know someone asked about sound from cai), it really sounds like its got a pair now  and that ram air scoop really makes for a nice run on the highway or any 55+ mph driving. it rides out on the highway now!

as for the tbs, don't know if it's doing much for me, haven't really read anything great about them anyway. more on that later, it does make a cool turbo noise though :dupe:
