I already have my rims and tires on order, they came in last week but someone at the shop sold them a day before I was suppose to pick them up. So I have to wait 3 weeks because they are on backorder; should have them in about 2 weeks.
I went with 305/40 saw them in person and also getting a really good deal on them.

I read a lot of good things about them as well, but most were short term opinions. I've got over 20k on my set and I still have quite a bit of tread left. Of course my opinion is just one instance and not one to use as a rule. They are cheap enough to try out a set and if they don't work out sell them off and get a better set....
What size tires do you have on the Tahoe?
-
I wouldn't recommend the General Grabbers. I have a set of 22 inchers on my Tahoe and they are loud and hard to balance. So loud that I thought I had a wheel bearing going out and it turned out to be the tires. I've had them balanced twice and they still vibrate. I'm looking at the Yokohama Spec Xs at the moment for the wifes new ride. The tread pattern isn't sexy, but the tire sure seems to get good reviews.
I've actually read and heard good things about the grabbers. But I know that the cheapest tire discount tire sells in that size...

Anyone have any pics of there grabbers? I'm looking for tread views and sidewall views.
Thanks

no hankook.... i never had any personal expierence but i sell tires and those suck....worse tire next to sumitumo(i think thats how spell it)
I'm reseaching the general grabbers, I like the tread design, and most of all the price. Hopefully I will have my new rims and tires by this weekend...

So all the guy carries is Korean "Off Brand" tires? They are not even well know Korean tires at that.....I would look somewhere else.
Actually I think the Korean tires are the only ones available in my size...
-
I'm thinking flat black. But would have to see a pic to decide.
-
I just talked to the wheel guy and the tires I mentioned above are all he carries. I told him I was looking for a name brand and he said that Lexani's are name brand, and at one time it was a expensive tire.
The tread wear says "340", not sure if that is good.
I'm debating if I should just buy the rims and get the tires at another tire shop, or just get the package through him. For a set of 4 u2-55's and tires (brands above) w/lugs and locks come out be 1765 out the door.

Ouch, prices for Toyo are little to expensive for me. About a $80 difference between them and the general grabbers.
-
stay away from nankang, had them on my stang and they just fell apart, i think i got about 18k miles on them before issues occurred. No toyo proxies in the mix?
Nope no Toyo's included in the package. But I think I may upgrade to a better tired. I just didn't want to break the bank.
I do like the tread pattern on the Gerneral grabbers, and price is not bad. I'll have to check out to Toyo's too...
-
They all sound like Korean tires to me.
Yep, especially "NaNKang"...
-
ive honeslty never heard of any of those tires. i didn tthink lexani made tires only rims.
Me either, that's why I was asking on here.
Yeah one of the tires he mention was Lexani...
-
Well I think I'm going to pick up the u2-55 rims this weekend, but still debating... Anyways the wheel shop I'm going to offer a package with the wheels and a choice of these tires:
Nankang, Wanly, Sunny, and Lexani
Does anyone of any experiece with these tires and if you have any comments/suggestions please let me know.

Truck turned out awesome, great job dude. I have a porter cable new in the box that has been collecting dust for about 6 months now.
I need to pick out some pads, and I'm thinking about trying poorboys products.
Again, great job...

I bought mine off eBay from a member here, bgdsub or somthing like that.. I got the 4300k versions from him, but didnt like the yellowish look so I upgraded to the 6000k's and they worked perfect... I say do a search and get a set from him, he shipped fast and they worked awesome.
Awesome, I will check it out. Were they pretty easy to install??

Are the $100 HID's the cheaper ones? I read a couple threads on here about other users having problems with there HID's not staying on or going out all the time.
Anyone recommend a brand or a place to purchase HID's?
-
Anyone else try these? One of my silverstars went out last night and I'm looking for something brighter (non hid).
-
I won't have but 2" shackles in the back. Just wondering if that tire size may look to skinny in the back...
-
Nobody running a 305/45/22 tire?
-
I'm looking at a couple sets of 22"s but not sure what offset i need to go with. I have a 05' Extended Cab, will soon have 2" drop shackles, and I want to run a 305/45 tire.
Anyone know what offset I would need with out having to roll my lip/fender...
Thanks

Looking for a pair of stock 03+ chevy tails.
-
I've seen those on ebay. The only thing I didn't like was the number on the rims spoke. That throws the look off some and it a stupid place to put the number
I was wondering what that was, that's a dumb idea overall.
-
those are U2 wheels
Found them, thanks.
-
Probably not, I figured someone here would know and I would get a quicker response. If not it's not it's no big deal.
