  1. I am getting a very nice price on a set of General Grabber UHP... they are 285/50/20... I realize the stock SS Tires are 55 series...Will this make a big enough difference in sidewall height. I realize alot of tires are given a size rating but they still are not uniform with all brands.....eg... IMO the width of Nitto tires seem to run narrow with all other factors being equal (275/55/20 nitto v.s 275/55/20 kumho) I have measured and thr tread width on the Kumho is about .5-.75 wider.... so I was wondering if this held true to the Aspect ratio between other brands?

    If you can drive that thing, she will put up a 12.7,12.8 @ about 109-110.... Beware of the wheel hop though..lol..that 10 Bolt will pop FO SHO..... Long Tubes, 4.10's and a Tune...come on Chase you know you want to!

    I think some of the 80's monte carlos did as well..

     

     

    The caprices 4.3 v.8 was pretty similar to the lt1...

    infact a guy I know bought a caprice thinking he was getting and lt1...lol....

  6. How can i get rid of my cats and keep the computer from throwin a code and cause my check engine light to come on? I was plannin on dualin' it out and addin flows (any suggestions on what style would be appreciated)...or maybe borla...i would appreciate any and all opinions

  7. I'm not gonna deny it, but yes I do think that majority of the women out there can't drive. I'm sure there are some men out there that suck at driving, too. I've seen them both. I wasn't saying that ALL women can't drive, I just meant most. I say this from personal experiences from being on the road. Stupidity does not necessarily ruin good driving skill because I knew a few girls that have a 3.5 or 4.0 GPA and are very smart and have common sense, but yet aren't very good at driving.

     

    And ShreveportSS - I did not initiate the race with him, it was vice versa. I think I stated that in one of my posts, but the guy was seriously trying to beat me. I couldn't let him win and put out a bad name for the TBSS now could I? C'mon now! ;)

     

     

    I was refering to stupidity behind the wheel, not IQ wise...but .... A smart person wouldn't drive like an ass....right?? LOL..

    I am an ASS 4 SHO..... So far I have kept the shiny Side Up though........

  9. 2-3 Heat Range Colder plugs. Bigger injectors... Progressive timmer to keep the engine alive( for a little longer at least). A zippy shift kit install, Fuel Pressure gauge, Bottle pressure Gauge, Bottle heater... there are lots of things.... Depends on what kit?Wet/dry?how complete of a kit? The sky is the limit if you want peice of mind that all is right and help keep the stock bottom end kicking... Personally.... 125 is the MAX I would put to a cast piston engine. Especially one with factory rings..... Prepare to blow the Ring lands if you lean her out...... KABOOM

  10. i wanna think its the coil but i know its not.... if there is or isnt spark the damn pump doesnt stay on..

     

    actually yeah.. i got a aftermarket stereo in it.. but thats a hole other thing right???? i mean its got its on fuse and stuff.. and the only prob i heard with changing the stereo is that the airbags wont work... not the pump

     

    i mean you can only hear the pump turn on for one second then back off.. my other silverado i can hear the pump without getting next to the truck

    yeah, theres no check light.. it has to be fuel related.. maybe electricl... the shrader valve??

    "reduced engine power" mode????? i havent washed my engine yet... i've wiped it down...

    just check the connectors for the TB? i cleaned out the TB for the hell of it...

     

    actually guys i have to be honest here.... my trucks are only silverados not SS... i wish!!!!!

    i will have one...... one day

    i dont know where else to go for help.. i would think fellow silverados people on here will help me out.. i actuall got 01 03 silverados.. 4.8L 1500 2WD EXT. cab both under 100 K miles

    hook up a test light to each spark plug wire?

    un-plug from spark plug and put in the test light in the wire? then crack / try to start?

     

    for each wire?

    what if i get a mutl-meter thing and hook that up for readings voltage or something?

     

    the 03 silverados pump stays on for maybe 10 second or more....

    the 01 silverado just turns on for one second then back off.. and to that i have to play with the keys turn on and off 3-5 times before i hear anything from the pump to turn on..

     

    thats what i was thinking a coil prob but then the check light would come up...

    it has to be electrical or fuel related stopping the truck from starting

     

     

    the noid light taps into the injectors, not the plug wires. Adavance Auto has them..Like 15$

  11. I hear you, but one of the reasons I bought my truck was that it already had all the tranny and rear end stuff you needed for a supercharger. It's all good...............

     

     

    I really like the L's but You cant be serious when you say it had all the tranny and rear stuff that is needed? The rear .. Yea... the Tranny? NO WAY.. I have a handful of friends with lightnings from the last generation, all have a range of Mods.... EVERYONE except one has blew a Tranny! The one that hasn't blown up a trans. is the one that uses it for a Show truck... ( awesome black with blue pearl flames). One guy is in the bottom 12's and he goes through them left and right...or he did at least.. he sold the truck, and moved to Florida. I love the L's but... damn even they have tranny concerns...mods or not! IMO
