  1. After doing a bunch of searching, I've found that basically the muffler is a huge power robber imo. The exhaust is basically 3" dual all the way back to the muffler which looks like dual in dual out to a Y'd single 3.5" outlet. Turns out the dual 3" into the muffler immediately turns to 2" inside the muffler, and the dual out is fake. So imo thats gotta be a big hinderance to the breathing of the engine. Dual 3" down to a single 2" bottle neck. I'm gonna cut out the muffler and temp. run it straight out. See what change that makes at the track on thursday. If it seems like I lost some torque I'll prolly put in an x pipe muffler or something with true dual in/out. Anyone else done this or any opinions? -Mike
  2. I was lookin at it last night anybody just cut the muffler off and run it like that? Imagine its pretty loud. I'm tryin to go as cheap as possible seen a flo pro 2504 I think that has dual 3" in and 2.75 out i think but its like $160-170. -Mike
  3. I appreciate input, but as cost is an issue and I already bought the programmer this is really no help. Also 8/10s gain in the 1/4m the predator gave me was worth the $350 I paid imo. Flo Pro 2504 looks to me a good muffler to replace my stock with. Or run straight out with no muffler, not sure how horrid loud it would be tho. Down the line when I'm back working and not laid off I do plan on going to efi live. But for now just looking for some cheap power adders to get down the track a bit faster. Thanks Mike
  4. You wouldnt have the part # on that magnaflow would you? Or the exhause pipe sizes for the x-pipe? I have the 06 sierra v-max duals back to the stock muffler with single out. Thanks -Mike
  5. After getting under the truck and looking at the exhaust. I have pipe coming from each stock exhaust manifold with an inline cat for each, then they come together and run side by side to a 2 in 1 out muffler. Ive read various things about cutting out the stock muffler using an X or H pipe then straight out or the X or H with two hi flow mufflers out. Any suggestions on that? Thanks -Mike
  6. Was thinking of just going with a cat delete pipe if there is one? Anyone have some opinions on full systems or just cat delete pipes? Are they worth it? With the CAI and Programmer I'm running consistant 14.8s, but I want more. Unfortunately in this economy I can't go spending a fortune so a turbo or s/c kit is out. Im thinking exhaust if its worth it and some nitrous... Opinions? Thanks -Mike Might help to know what vehicle this is for. Its an 06 sierra vortecmax. -Mike
  7. I run the u7192 diablo predator on my 06 vmax. Love it, makes it like driving a new sport truck. Went from15.6-15.8 to pretty consistant 14.8s. I got a free fram boost intake thats the only other mod. Didnt take out any weight either. I'm happy with it. But now I got a duramax too so I may be looking into getting efilive... -Mike
