  1. Oh, and based on the options you've listed and a mileage of 26,000, these are the following prices listed for a private party sale: KBB- $25,320 Edmunds- $27,500 NADA- $27,850
  2. You have an awesome truck no doubt, modded tastefully and obviously well cared for...however, I agree with everyone else on the pricing. If you go by the average of 12k miles a year on a given vehicle, then the mileage is high...and being that low mileage is a key selling point on limited edition vehicles, then that's very high. Which is too bad, because the deal I had going on an 05 SS (23k for 5k miles) just fell through, so I have the cash and I've been looking for an 05-06 SS, and I'm in Tucson.
  3. I can't comment on dealers in your area, but I can tell you with confidence that the 3m Clear Bra is an excellent investment. When I bought my 02 Trans-Am in Seattle almost 3 years ago, the first thing I did was have it applied to the front bumper, hood, headlights, front fenders, and side skirts...3 years and 42k miles later, there are almost zero rock chips on my car, just a few tiny ones in areas where the plastic bra doesn't protect (along the very edges of the bumper, etc). I don't have any pics right now, since I'm at school, but I'll post some pics of my car...from anything farther than a few feet away, it's virtually invisible, and it makes cleaning up bugs a breeze. Depending on the installer, prepare to spend between $60-1200 to have the front end of the SS covered with the bra, but again, it's definitely worth it.
  4. Ok guys, after spending the past month moving, it's just a matter of getting finances in order to finally purchase my first truck. It instantly came down to the Lightning and the SS, but I much prefer the practicality of an extended cab and the looks of the SS. I think I've pretty much decided exactly what I want. A black 2005 SS, RWD...any other option is negligible. I don't want the added weight of the AWD system, plus I just don't need it here in AZ. So here's a couple questions, they probably all have obvious answers, but I have no experience with the SS trucks at all. What options are available to the SS aside from a sunroof? Are there different front seating configurations (bench seat or buckets/center console?) Do they come with the integrated tow hitches like most Silverados, and on that same topic, how tow-worthy are they, if at all? How well do they respond to mods? What type of gas mileage do you guys usually see? And if you guys answer that, is your truck AWD or RWD? Are there problems common to the SS, or perhaps to this generation Silverado in general? Feel free to add anything else you guys would like...since I'm coming from a background of muscle cars and motorcycles, this truck business is a whole new realm to me. Thanks.
  5. What's the latest with the truck? And when are you taking off for Australia? And do you have any idea how much it would cost to ship it to Arizona? Normally I'd have no problems flying out and driving it back, but I can't take that kind of time off from school.
  6. I've been playing this the past couple days...it's text based, so it's not the most exciting looking of games, but since there's minimal graphics, at least it looks like you're doing something productive if you're at work. It's pretty simple, but it's addicting, and it's especially fun if there's people you know on there that you can **** with. http://www.mafiabattle.net/index.php?r=2186 If any of you guys register, be sure to use the above link so I can get credit for the referral, thanks. Maybe we can even get enough together to start a silveradoss.com gang.
  7. Right now, i'm out in southwest Tucson (near the Casino del Sol), but I'm moving up to the northwest part of town (Ina) in January. But yea, I definitely need a truck...I was looking at getting a Lightning, and still want one eventually, but i'd rather have the convenience of an extended cab for now. I pretty much know what I want, a black 05 with RWD and as close to stock as possible, but the prices are a little more than I can afford right now. I'm hoping that prices might go down a bit with the introduction of the new Silverado.
  8. I feel ya man...on different occasions, I've walked outside to find a fist-sized dent in the quarter panel of my Trans-Am, a cracked tailight with egg all over it, and chipped paint on the door from where someone opened their door into mine. It sucks that we strive to keep our vehicles perfect only to have damage brought upon it by jealous f'ing people, but unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do aside from just fix it and keep it looking as good as you can. Those people will get theirs in the end.
  9. Hey everyone, how's it going. My name's Chris, just registered with the site. I don't own a Silverado SS, but i'm looking to change that soon. I have a few other rides, including an '02 Trans-Am, '65 Mustang, and an '04 GSX-R600, and after moving a couple times over the past year, I've realized how much I need a truck. You try hauling a house worth of boxes in the hatch of a Trans-Am . Oh yea, and here's pics of the family...
