I noticed the silver behind the grill too and was wondering the same thing. I plan to look it over very closely, hopefully tomorrow and I'll report back. Thanks for the replies.

Hey All, some of you may remember back in Oct of last year, I wrecked my 04 SSS and totalled it. Anyway, since the accident I've been driving an 05 Silverado(non-ss) because I couldn't find an SSS that was reasonably close to me and this was the only truck I found that somewhat appealed to me. Fast forward to now, I've found a low mileage 03 that's very close to me and I'd like your opinions on the price and so forth. I haven't seen it in person yet, I will tomorrow depending on the weather. Here is a link to the truck, tell what you think. They are asking $22,900 for it. We have a Beagle/Bassett mix and she is a great dog. She is very smart and great with the kids. I'll get a pic up of her later on. Being a hound, she will run off on occasion tracking something, but she usually isn't gone long though.

Wow, this is an old thread. I totally forgot about even starting it. The tires were Eagle LS's, the exact same as what came on it new. I took the truck and had the tires rebalanced and none were found to be out of balance. I never did find out what was causing it and it didn't do it everytime. I don't have the truck anymore so it isn't an issue now. The ss was totalled back in Oct. Hopefully, you guys having this same vibration find what's causing it, I'm curious what the problem is.

There so many cars that I'd love to own, so it's hard to narrow it down to just one. I guess my ultimate dream car would be a 67 Shelby GT500 with a little modern technology mixed in with it.

I had the steering shaft replaced yesterday with only 24k on the truck, it's like driving a different truck now. Hopefully, the clunk won't come back. When I was at the dealership service dept, there were at least 4 other trucks there for the same problem or people coming in to see about getting it fixed. The dealership said they've had a ton of them in to be fixed.

I think $14,000 is very cheap, there must be a reason for it, in my opinion anyway. I don't know what year it is how many miles are on it, but last month when I totalled my 04 SS with 38k miles, the insurance paid me $24,000 for it. There has to be a reason for it to be so cheap.

The only real complaints I had about my SS are: 1- The dreaded front-end howl/grind 2- Terrible wind noise from the pass side rear window. 3- the biggest of them all, the fact that I no longer have it. All in all, I absolutely loved the truck and I'll have another sometime. I hoping that chevy comes out with a better one in the new body.

That's awesome that you got your truck back and it wasn't beat all to hell. It's also great that you were able to buy it back for $20,000, my 04 was totalled by my insurance company week before last and they paid me $24,000 for it. You did well, except for the stress of it all.

I'm only kidding about leaving, I love this site. I don't post very much, but this a cool place with a lot of great people. So far, I haven't had any luck in finding a vho or an ss that is somewhat close to me, but I'll keep looking. The insurance company offered me $23,495 in their first offer, I haven't said yes or no yet. I'll talk to them again on Monday.

WOW!! Sorry to hear about the truck. The main thing is that you're ok. I know how you feel though, my SS was wrecked last week and totalled today. I hope your's can be fixed.
