Yea it was great talking with you as well and thanks for all your help. Its just that I drive almost every weekend to a "big city" either Houston, Austin or Dallas and the SS isnt very economical as we all know. Looking at a 300c that is a little more economical ;-) But I do keep going back and forth, so if the right buyer comes along and can appreciate all I have done to the truck I would part with it, but by no means am I forced ot sell it right now. I just put the black headlights on and they got me fired up again about the truck ya know. Anyway, thanks again for all your help.

I think it depends on your truck. Mine is blakced out, the only things that arent black are silver (ss logos) and headlights (soon to change). So ifyour truck is blacked out I think black with some silver looks sick. If your truck is blue or red, chrome is pretty cool as well. If your truck is black but not fully black then you have options, but IMO blakc with chrome lip is cool on a black truck. Here is my old M35 that was black with chrome lip on blakc car and my current SSS blacked out with 24" Forte F3 wheels. Also, wheels that are NOT chrome are lighter.

sorry, see you can only have six characters, here in VA we get 7 We get 7 in Cali and when my truck was there it was 1SLOTRK = One Slow Truck ;-) Now that I moved ot Texas, I put in a request to get 1SIKSS or 1SLOSS, I saw that the state cashed my check, but no plates yet, so it will be one of the two.

Hey guys, just wondering if the PIAA model number H4 will work in our trucks headlights? I have an 05 SSS and have read that the H4 and 9006 are the same bulb, but after looking on PIAA's website it looks like the 9006 comes with a black plastic elbow type adapter and the H4 only has a 3 prong metal adapter. The reason Im asking is I just bought some on ebay and they arrived today, but are the H4's and I was expecting to see the elbow plastic adapter and its not there. Thanks for your help

No, Im still under warranty, but I am about ot make a 1500 mile drive to Texas and was wondering if its safe to drive or if it needs ot be serviced before i leave

Is this something that may have happend with the mods I recently made or is this something that just happens sometimes? I have a friend thats a mechanic, so Im sure he should be able to fix it or is it something I can fix myself? Is it safe to drive or should I get it to the shop immediately? thanks bro

I just noticed in my SSS that the two gauges in the upper right hand corner of my dash cluster...I think one is oil level and one is the battery indicator are showing to be WAAAAAAAY past the limits. I never noticed this before. When my truck is running the needles are all the way to the right, like pointing to 3 o'clock...when I turn my truck off, all of the other needles (gas, temp gauges) go back to the left or "off" mode, but the battery and oil gauges just move back a little bit, like to the 2 o'clock angle...which is right at the end of the span. The other gauges are right where they should be. Im not sure if this is normal and I just never realized it or maybe something is wrong. The only thing I have recently done was the 4 beam mod with the diodes, replaced a couple burned bulbs and added a audio system with lcd radio, subs, capacitor, amps etc. Does anybody have info on this? I hope Im explaining it right thanks

I am moving out to Texas again next week and was wondering if the state inspection sites test for tint when you go for your yearly inspection? I just bought a truck with dark tint and if I rememebr correctly when I was in Texas for college, I went to an inspection place and they put this "tint meter" over my windows to see what percentage my tint was and itf it was legal. Do they stil ldo this in Texas? How do you get around it? thanks

Are the HID's still available? i was going to buy some mccullooch ones on ebay, but sawthese as well. Why are the philips so much more expensive than the mcculochs, do you know?

Can anybody tell me the difference between the PIAA Super White series and the PIAA Xtreme White Plus series? Im trying to figure out which ones ot buy and am getting ab it confused. What are others running and what is the difference between them? Also, if I go the HID route, what brand and vendor do you all recommend?

Can you tell me what a cam does to the perfomormance of the truck, how much it costs and how much to install and what sort of gains you get from having one? thanks

What does KR stand for and after you define it, what does it mean lol? Is "dyno tune" the same thing as a "face-to-face" tune? Also, having only a few mods, will a pcm4less or zippy tune be adequate for me, or would a face to face or dyno still be better? Have you heard of Nelson tune in Texas? thanks for your help once again

I was thinking about either SS2NV or 1SICKSS What do you think? How many letters/numbers are the maximum for texas, I know in Cali you can go up to 7, but I think Texas is 6, am I right?

Hey guys, since there arent any (I dont think) face-to-face tuners in Texas, i was wondering if anybody could recommend one for Southern California? Ill be driving out to Texas sometime next week, but if I can tune my truck before I leave california with somebody you all recommend thats an option too. Thanks for your help

Sorry for the stupid question, but is getting a PCM face-to-face tune the same thing as getting your truck Dyno'd? Im rather new to this whole engine customizing area. I have the basics like an intake, exhaust and headers, and think I am ready for a tune. the relativley inexpensive price of a tune in contrast with the performance gains seems liek a no-brainer. I was just wondering if a tune and a dyno are the same thing or if they are different and which one you all would recommend? thanks

3rd brake light as well as tail lights were smoked by the guy who I bought it from. It was kinda funny, he called me about my M35 for sale and we ended up buyign each others cars. So it worked out well. Thanks for the props. now only question is which personalized license plate should I get? ARDI

The kid I bought it from said he custom ordered it with cloth and with 2wd. His reasoning was that since he went to the river a lot, that the cloth was better in the heat out there. Im a big guy, so it actually feels more roomy without the console in the middle. I still have cupholders, but less storage without the console, but more knee room. I custome interior is on the wish list, I just need to research it. The wheels are made by Tireco, a private label and are under the name of Forte, F3 Signs. Not a lot of places had them or have heard of them including superbuytires.com, luckily my shop here in OC, CA got them for me. I have only seen them once and it was on a stock F150.

I just bought this truck and made some modifications to it and wanted to share some pictures after it was recently detailed. Im moving out to College Station, Texas from California and look forward to being an active memebr on this board, thanks for all the help so far. I am thinking about possibly lowering it and getting a tune. The tires rub a bit already, so not sure if I should lower it and if so, how much. Any input would be great on both loweing and a tune.
