  1. Welcome back! Glad to hear you're doing better. Hang in there, you'll be 100% in no time!
  2. Here's a picture of my favorite WWII fighter, the P-40. I believe this is a P-40E.
  3. Congrats, and Happy Birthday!
  4. I just got done doing the whole truck with Zaino. It was extremely easy to use, even out in the hot sun, and especially considering the truck had not been waxed since at least last summer. I don't think I used even 1/4 of the bottle. Goes on easy, comes off very easy. The truck looks GREAT! Now we have to see how long it holds up. I have never used DER, but now that I've used Zaino, I don't see a need to try another brand. Thanks to those who recommended it!
  5. I had a '97 Grand Prix GTP that I pulled the DRL fuse on, and the headlights would no longer turn on automatically when it got dark. If that's not affected on the Silverado, I'm giving it a try!
  6. I'm in the minority, but I like the idea of it being on the floor of the bed, between the wheel wells.
  7. Welcome to the site. Plenty of good information and good people too.
  8. Recently, Dell had actually gone back to selling PCs with WinXP on them. There were a lot of customer complaints because not a lot of programs are Vista compatible yet. Maybe they are still selling laptops with XP. Have a look at their site. I've been using Dell PCs for a long time, and have no real complaints on the hardware.
  9. I ordered Zaino last week too. I plan on Friday for doing the truck. They're saying chance of T'storms Thrusday through Sunday, but I'll try to get it done anyway. There's a get-together down the Jersey shore on Saturday, and I'd like the truck to look good for it! I agree with Jason, they can't get today's weather right (try looking out a window!), much less a week from now.
  10. Looks like I'm definitely in! Let's hope for good weather.
  11. Yeah, I'm with Dan. Don't call it an SS if it ain't an SS.
  12. I like them. I think at TireRack's web site, you can get a picture to come up of how the wheels look on a Silverado, although not an SS. I did that with the wheels I bought.
  13. I think maybe I'm going to church next Sunday!
  14. Also, there was the 454 SS truck option (mostly trim changes, no?) and the El Camino SS (396 I believe?). I don't think the first Impala SS in '61 or '62 came with performance options (engine, trans, etc.) as part of the SS package, but were ordered as separate options. I think our trucks represent what the SS name has become, as Black2003SS said, more power... significantly better than the base model.
  15. I had HVAC problems too. The dealer had the truck for a week (after the parts were delivered!) before it was fixed. But it's been OK since, knock on wood.
  16. It ain't all that bad! But I think I'll go for something else. One Acclaim owner on the SS site is plenty!
  17. I guess we all get a little bored at times. But then I clean the truck up, or add a mod, and it's all new again. I really love the look, the sound, and the power. I plan on getting a different daily driver, and I'm sure I'll appreciate the truck more when I drive it after that.
  18. I'm interested in Bilsteins for the stock height too. I think I read here that they don't make them for lowered SS's.
