  1. Welcome to the site! I have found a lot of helpful "how-to" articles, and advice on things. Use the Search feature. You can find just about anything you're looking for.
  2. That sucks, Dan. Luckily, it doesn't look too bad.
  3. They made an '06 and an '07 Silverado "Classic" SS as well.
  4. If my living room was bigger, I'd get one of those. I'd have to put a blower on it though. Makes the chore more fun...
  5. The original post says 12 noon. I hope that gives me enough time to get the truck cleaned up. I wouldn't want to be the only one there with a dirty truck!
  6. Thanks. It's a relief to have it back with everything in good shape. Now on to more improvements!
  7. Glad you're OK. Good luck getting the truck back together.
  8. Well... after a total of 5 days at the dealer, I have the truck back, and everything seems to be working fine. The story I got was that they put in the first actuator they had ordered, but the mode still would not change from defrost. So they diagnosed some more, and ordered a cam for the actuator. Still NG. Some more diagnosis, and it turns out the replacement actuator was NFG. Ordered another actuator, put it in, and that worked. It's amazing how much you can miss your vehicle! Glad to have it back. So far, it does not look like they messed anything else up. All the trim is in place and nothing rattling. Good job!
  9. Talk about money to burn!
  10. 93 octane is already over 3 bucks a gallon on Long Island. But I have no alternate vehicle, other than a bicycle.
  11. Here is a direct quote from the New York Auto Show web page regarding the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic: "The Silverado SS Classic is available in 2WD and AWD configurations. The 2WD model has an 8,100-pound towing capacity and broadens SS performance choices by offering customers traditional rear-wheel drive performance at a great value. The Silverado SS Classic is based on the 1500 Series Extended Cab with a short bed. It is powered by a high-output version of the 6.0-liter V8, which pumps out 345 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is connected to a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission." Do you think Chevy knows they're supposed to be building an AWD version of the SS?
  12. Thanks, Mr. P. I'm going to share this with the rest of the IT "geeks" I work with!
  13. Well... today is Thursday, and they've had the truck since Monday. I have a fabulous Malibu to cruise around in! I went past the dealer both Tuesday and yesterday, and looked inside. Parts are still sitting on the seats, but the dash isn't in as many pieces as I thought it would be. I hope I get it back today. When I know the whole story, I'll post up what all they had to replace. I want my truck back!
  14. This was discussed here before. I think this has your answer. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...8&hl=onstar
  15. I was at the last one, and we really enjoyed it. I'll try to make this one too, but I don't know if I'll be back in time from my fiancee's house in New Jersey. If I'm back in time, I'm there!
  16. Just got the latest bad news... they have to keep my truck another couple of days. "Parts are on order." I can't help but wonder if there will be something else wrong with it when I get it back. They're going to give me a loaner. Wonder if they have a spare Z06?
  17. Thanks for the info. I've been going back and forth between "I'm sure they are taking their time to do it right" and "I wonder what they broke". I hope you are right! I guess I'll find out later today.
  18. Hillsborough is maybe 10 miles or so northwest of Princeton. That help?
  19. I kinda think I'd love to see the look on his face when he found out!
