I think last years event was the best yet. You did a great job zippy. It's going to be tough to be better this year. Everything and everyone was great. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone about anything. Might be fun to take a longer cruise up the shoreline or go to Michigan Adventure 1 day. Especially for the out of state people. Whatever you decide, I'll be there again if I can. Already looking forward to it. Hopefully we'll have even more people this year.
Can you tell a newbie a little about the event? Thanks.

I became a supporting member about 2 weeks ago. Where's Gasoline Alley? I'm as much of a pervert as the next guy!

This year, I'm going for wheels and tires. I want the American Racing Vintage Torq-Thrust ST wheels (dark gray spokes). Not sure about tires yet. Need to do some research.

'03 with 28K. I got it with 6700 miles on it. I've driven it from NY to FL twice. Great long distance driver.

lol i'm almost looking forward to getting the clunk now lol.
would it be advisable to disconnect the battery so the airbags aren't affected???
I didn't disconnect the battery. Just don't twist the shaft, or turn the steering wheel. I had no problems.

Would someone mind posting a couple of pics to show where exactly where the bolt (s) are??
Mine has 26k on the clock and it's doing it. When you're in a low speed turn you can hear and feel it......drives me freaking nuts.
Thanks in advance for the helpful info!
If you look at the steering shaft directly under the brake booster, there is a visible bolt going directly through the shaft. It holds 2 sections of the steering shaft together. It's easy to see. I did the procedure on Saturday, and it worked. I have just over 28K miles on my SS.

Thanks for all the welcome messages. I plan on being a paying member real soon. This site is well worth it. Here's to all of you SSS lovers!

I just found this site today, and figured I'd hunt around for information on my "clunky" steering. Wow, who knew! The whole fraternity has the same problem. I'm going to try the "5 minute" fix that I found, plus look to order a lube "kit". Thanks to the veteran members of the site for all of the info.

I've had my SS for over 3 years, and this steering thing has been driving me crazy for the past year and a half. I only found the SilveradoSS site today, and now I have a good fix to try! Plus it seems there are a bunch of nuts just like me around here. Thanks for the information. I'm going to try this next weekend.
