Lukes 2002 silverado
Hi, I’m redoing all the suspension/steering in my truck and I’m onto the lower control arm. The arm is new, but the torsion bar is stock. I measured the opening in the arm where the torsion bar goes and it’s the same size as my previous control arm. However when I slide the torsion bar in it feels like it’s too loose in there. I can tighten the key and everything levels out correct and looks good but it looks like a bolt that’s about to strip in the arm. Is this normal? Does the torsion bar usually fit a little sloppy in the arm?
TxSilverado361
That sounds about right. My 97 K1500 looked that way last I checked. I believe they need room for the arm to move up and down. Sort of like a torque stick allows for flex without breaking.
Lukes 2002 silverado
That’s what I was hoping for, just wanted to check and see if anyone knows before buttoning it all up, thanks!
