Dr Mike Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Anyone have a problem with radio having no sound on any station then sound pops in 10 to 20 minutes later Works fine when I show up and dealer looks at it. Dr Mike
r8rs4lf Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Try the mute button on the wheel. I know I've hit it a few times unitentionally and wondered WTF was wrong. Late- Alex
BIG LAW MAN Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Mike, I have had the same experience twice now. Not sure of the cause, and it is NOT the mute button.
ALASKASS Posted January 19, 2005 Report Posted January 19, 2005 Mine has done that a few times. I just shut the radio off then turned it on and it always fixed it self.
cwest94 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 I didn't know there was a mute button on the steering wheel, I'll have to check this out when I get home. One problem I noticed lately with mine is XM keeps braking up a lot. I do not know if this would have anything to do with the cold temps outside, but it seems to of started around the same time. I never had any problems before, and I dont see how cold temps could affect the XM radio.
TA219 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 My old TA used to do that , are you usually "rockin out" when it happens ?? I wonder if it shuts itself down if the head unit or amp gets too hot
BRUTONMOTORSPORTZ Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 It is covered under warranty. There is a TSB out about the problem. It has to do with the Bose equipped trucks. Both of mine have done it. The dealer made it right.
fordsareslow Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Mine has had the same problem a couple of times. I do not have a mute button on the wheel. (Reg. Cab. LS package) I found that if you turn the truck off, lock the doors with the remote, then unlock them, start the truck up again, everything works fine.
IdriveGTP Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 Mine just did it yesterday for the first time.....turned the radio off for about a minute, and then it went right back on.....
cwest94 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 I haven't noticed this problem yet. The only thing I notice is the screen sometimes doesn't change the radio station name, it gets stuck. I also do not have a mute button on my wheel, where is this button supposed to be at?? I am now real curious.

fox_forma Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 if you have any controls on your wheel it should be the top left one i believe, it looks like a little speaker. If you have an SS it should be standard on it. I may be wrong tho
cwest94 Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 On my wheel that button with the little speaker turn on the hands free voice activated phone.
fox_forma Posted January 24, 2005 Report Posted January 24, 2005 did you have the phone installed seperate, they could of just bypassed the mute buttom to the phone instead, if so and something is lose back there could be shorting out the radio
