bulldog002
Today when I was driving home from work I got a message Fuel cap loose, I checked the cap and it was on tight. A couple of miles down the road it flashed the same message and the check light came on, what is going on? I checked the fuel cap and everything looks good, I cleared the check light only for it to come back on 3-4 miles down the road. I would appreicate any help you can provide, thanks. cokedrvrbjw
It actually came up as "fuel cap loose"? Could be a bad sensor or the "flashed chip" youve got.

BenKey
Some have had issue with the way the cap retainer was positioned. Evidently, it was causing the cap to not get fully tightened, despite clicking in.

Jonmalibuss
I have run into that it would click and acted like it was tight it din't look crooked or anything but the retainer was in the way and the check engine light came on.
RacerJJ
I took the retainer off. Kept getting in the way anyway. Now, when filling up, I stick the cap in the bed rail hole nearest rear window...fits in there perfect.
