RacerJJ
This is most likely a , but what size rocker arms fit w/o mods to the valve cover, 1.7 or 1.8? Also, are they a PIA to install? TIA.
d_a_n_payne
Yeah, I was wondering which ones I should get
BenKey
Get ones for a LS1, like the ones Tbyrne offers. Takes about 20 minutes each side to do. But, 1.7 is the stock size. If you're not going up, then don't do. Nothing gained.
bigbl62
what would you gain by going to a 1.8?
vtodd82
what would you gain by going to a 1.8? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i think i remember reading on here that you can achieve a 10% gain in lift consequently giving you approx 15-18 extra HP
bigbl62
is it necessary to change the springs and keepers? If you do is it worth going to titanium?
vtodd82
do you guys that are planning on doing this, already have a cam?? ive been thinking about getting those 1.8 rocker arms and leaving the stock cam. i dont want to pay anybody to do the work on my truck, and iam pretty sketchy on a cam install. i think i could handle changing the rocker arms though. The only way I am going to accomplish my goal of going fast and staying N/A is to do all of those mods, so I'm gonna have to sac up sooner or later! TBSS
I've heard of guys getting 7 RWHP or so. Not a lot of return on the investment. For about the same amount of moolah you can get a cam, and 20-30 RWHP.
383ss
just get a cam with the lift you want.
matt rem
I tired it and saw a very small difference, then I added the cam a low lift Comp 216/220 to work with the rockers. I wouldn't add the rockers I would do a cam, it is a really small gain with the rockers. Thats why I have both.
