dilleyoshemp
does anyone on here know why the chevy 5.3 comes with a 4L60E and you cant get the 80E on it but the 4.8 has the 80E? also how do you check which tranny you have, thank you
cadowns
The 4L65E is the transmissions in the SS. The 4l80E is common in the 2500 series trucks. I have not seen 4L80E in a 4.8 v8 truck, but I could be wrong. There is a way to look at your VIN # and tell what you have, but 5.3 usually have the 4l65E in the new models. dilleyoshemp
sorry i was talking about cargo vans, i know the SS has the 65E but the cargo vans 1500, 2500 with the 5.3 have the 60E and the 4.8 has the 80E along with the 6.0, just wondering why they put the 60E in the 2500HD cargo van, mines went out at 40,000 miles (60,000 km), im looking to get another fleet vechicle in the future and want to stay with the 5.3 but the tranny isnt so good
