PewterC3 Posted May 16, 2005 Report Share Posted May 16, 2005 Yes the "bump stops", technically they are called bumpers though aren't they? jounce bumpers to be exact I think? The reason I ask is the C3 guys all have 2" iron blocks under our rear leafs just like a Z71 has. This gives the truck that ass high stance so many owners take them out using 2WD u-bolts. Well...since you removed 2" of height there, most also remove the 1 1/2" tall bracket the jounce bumper or "snubber" mounts to compensate for the loss in travel. I've never heard of anyone having a problem doing it either. If you remove the bracket the snubber is on there is a whole (including one for the the alignment tab) for it to mount directly to the frame.
