misterp
Wow very nice How much internal volume did you end up per side? Mr. P.
SSplaytoy
Quite a bit of space. About 1.8 cu ft.. My last box had them down firing=no space and crappy sound.
misterp
Dude that's awesome - you fiberglassed the bottom against the contour of the floor, right?
SSplaytoy
Yea. I went through about 4 yards of mat 3/4 ounce mat and 2 gallons of resin just on the floor. Any little spots that didnt fit right I mixed sawdust and resin and filled the gaps. Note: To anyone doing this, buy fiberglass stuff from a boat store. It is way cheaper. misterp
You're building exactly the kind of box I want to do, except I would round the front outside corners; that is sweet. And thanks for the boat store hint. Does it stick out beyond the front edge of the seat? Mr. P. ps - would you be willing to share blueprints or dimensions? smooth68
Sweet!! Can't wait for the how to - is that going to include measurements? I've looked at doing the fiberglass bottom, but have been afraid that the tape would not hold up or something. Nice job!
SSplaytoy
It fits from the start of the carpet on the underside of the back seat on top and in front of that little hump on the floor. And you can't tell from in the pics, but the outside edges are sanded. I am going to throw a few layers of fiberglass on the outside for looks and then the paint is gonna be sick. I am going to do a new amp rack too with two of the amps frenched.
SSplaytoy
Yea I will get some measurements for you guys You might want to change them though. My woofers wont be recessed, but that is on purpose. I am leaving paint up to that.
