qwank
what size is the stock Silverado SS sway bar? the bar on my 99 silverado is 29mm and i noticed the tahoe bars are 31mm. just wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to the SS bar and some polyuerethane bushings, or just go aftermarket. i just bought a 1" rear bar on ebay. qwank
i found out the SS bar is 33mm. would 4mm make a difference. what size are most aftermarket front bars?
Silver LT
When comparing bars of the same physical shape, the relative stiffness is the diameter of the bar to the 4th power. A little extra makes a BIG difference. Going from 29 to 33 would be 67% stiffer. Please note that the bar on an SS only fits trucks with torsion bar front supension. Hotchkis makes bars that are 1 7/16" in diameter for both types of trucks. If you have a coil spring front suspension and are looking for a bigger bar, I have an extra Hotckis bar (brand new).
