HOLSTEIN
well the day has finally came for the project to start.. a good friend of mine bought a very nice 82 Mercedes Diesel that we are going to convert to a "Greaser".... for those of you who dont know what this is the vehicle will only be powered by used cooking oil (grease) from places like kfc, wendys etc..... you basiclly set up a repor w/ the managers of these establishments and harvest their used excess oil... one may say it would be messey but its not... a hand or electric pump does all the work... anyway the oil is filter three times before it is placed into the vehicles spare tank and then is filtered once more by the fuel filter. diesel is only used on start up and shut down, for purging purposes (grease would solidify in fuel lines) one man on GREASECAR.COM drove over 3,000 miles on one tank of diesel...... pretty impressive his main reason for doing this is he commutes a good way to work and it will be pretty cool to answer questions at stop lights about why you exhaust smells like A SIX PIECE CHICKEN McNUGGET MEAL
backinblack
don't you have to do some refineing on the grease first?

HOLSTEIN
the grease is filter twice upon reciept and then filtered once more back at home and then filtered again at the fuel filter..... filters are like 5 micron filters and that is it... HOLSTEIN
Hey man just do the consumer Biodiesel kits. I have been thinking of this as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> dont know much about that, this is just real simple........ the hardest part to it all is harvesting the grease... some managers at resturant's might be a little leiry of someone wanting their used grease, but once they see the car they would understand
