Barney
I recently used Lucas gasoline treatment and within a day the engine check light when on and the engine was not running right. Took it to the Dealer Tuesday and code PO446 came up the Evaporator Vent Valve was not working right and the solenoid was replaced. Is it typical for the engine to opperate in a safe mode with less power whenever the engine light comes on?
tawss04
Not for an EVAP code, there is usually no driveability problems with that system unless the purge valve is stuck open (very rare). The lucas treatment and evap core are not related. The EVAP vent solenoids always stick because they are under the bed and open to the elements. I replaced many at the dealer.
