Everyone: Help me in 4L65E study

Recommended Posts

Info I need :

Shift kit?

Tuning for increased line pressure? (yes or no)

Tuning to eliminate tq management? (yes or no)

stock converter (yes, no, stall)

Power output (if no dyno numbers, mods)

Failure? (yes, no, Power at failure (if failed))

if i get enough feedback, id like to make some charts to see if I can find any trends.

Shift Kit: Transgo HD2-C, Vette Servo

Line Pressure: Not sure exactly where my line pressure stands, I don't have a stock tune on this computer to compare to. At my highest point, I'm at 90% of the maximum allowable pressure on the 1-2 shift.

TM: All TQ Mgmnt gone

Stall: Still running stock converter

Power Output: :dunno: Radix w/3" pulley is the big mod

Failure: Still running strong and shifting firm. :D

Zippy shift kit

trailblazer converter

line pressure boosted

torque management (some survived the tuning)

failure - many many MANY times

strengthen mods since failure =

red alto clutches

wider 2-4 band

z-pac (clutch pack)

the list goes on... and on... and on...

how bad do you drive is the question....

No Shift Kit

Increased line pressure, elivated shift pts to 6200

No TM

Yank 3000TT converter

455-470HP to the wheels, 480 - 490TQ (dyno'd 30 times w/o shaft). Around 50 1/4 mile runs.

No Failures, 37K miles

The damn thing is like the Energizer bunny. :dunno: I expect a failure some day soon though. FWIW, I have done 3 fluid changes and 1 filter change. I rarely see temps over 150.
