Hey, I'm getting married in September and I need some ideas. Since September is the end of hurricane season, I was only given 2 decent options, Hawaii or Aruba. I wouldn't mind going to either places, but there has to be other options. I would love to go to Hawaii, but it's the most expensive.

Where did you go and where would you reccmend?

Thanks,

Mike

my wife and I got married on 10/9/04. we took a cruise to the bahamas through Carnival cruise lines. it was really nice, food was just ok, but the entertainment was excellent and it was alot of fun.

We went to Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki beach for a week. It may cost a little bit more, but it's worth it! We're going to go back for sure on our 5 year/10 year to celebrate! Only one regret really and that was that I didn't go over to see the lava fields and/or take a tour of a lava tube. Oh well, only 3.5 years to wait until I go back!

My wife and I went to Aruba for our honeymoon many, many years ago. :D 30 years to be exact. I understand it's changed quite a bit since then. Really depends on what you like to do. Great place to lay in the sun and be waited on if that's what you're into. Really wasn't a lot to do. Horseback riding, moonlight cruise on a sailboat, golf, see the lighthouse, caves and natural bridge. Watch them feed the sharks on the north side of the island. They also have some limited shopping and casinos.

All in all, I would go to Hawaii. Really wasn't impressed with Aruba. We were supposed to go to Jamaica but it didn't work out so we ended up going to Aruba.

Couple things to remember if you decide on Aruba.

1. They speak English there. They DO NOT understand English.

2. Stay in the tourist areas. The locals do not like visitors in their areas. Bars, stores, etc. They love you in the tourist areas though.

3. The people there move at their own pace. Exceedingly slow! This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. Allow 2-3 hours for dinner. 1- 1 1/2 hours for any other meal.

4. NEVER, NEVER tell a cab driver there to hurry. You get one hand on the horn and one foot on the floorboard and God help you if anyone else is on the road! :D

Have fun wherever you go.
