Bser RollPan Molding material

Recommended Posts

The dealership says you can not mold the bser rollpan to the side cladding used on the ss. They are trying to tell me the cladding is a plastic(ruber) and fiberglass mixed compound, and the bser rollpan is only fiberglass. so any compound the use will crack really quickly and they don't even want to do it...

I told them i wanted to ask you guys first, they have my truck

Please help ASAP

if they don't want to do it take it somewhere else...

it obviously can be done, and YES they are differant compounds but a qualified bodyman will have no issue's molding the plastic cladding and fiberglass pan together.

my guess would be a nice mixture of "cats hair" or fiberglass mix would be used to mold the two!!

if they don't feel comfortable then you shouldnt either...WITH THEM THAT IS!!

edit - there will be the chance of cracks but thats true for ANY custom bodywork that is performed if not done right. they are telling you they don't know how to do it without actually coming out and telling you!

So you think its just the material they are scared to work with!!!! or what??

They just don't know how, and/or don't have any experience doing it. Move on to a different body shop if you want it molded. Don't make them do something they aren't comfortable with or experienced at, or you both will be unhappy.
