chiketkd
Not bad at all - especially after driving 45 min. How did you launch the truck? Just wait for cooler temps, if it was 50's you would be running 15 flat if not 14.9!
black03ss
I brake torqued it up to about 2,000 rpm . I ran 2 times stopped to let the truck cool down and get some great race track food and then it got real busy and i didnt want to sit in the staging lanes for nearly an hour , so i didnt run again .I will have to go again next week maybe . The tracks only open for a couple more weeks depending on the weather. Ialso had about a half a tank of gas and was in full street trim (spare and all). chiketkd
and i didnt want to sit in the staging lanes for nearly an hour , so i didnt run again I hate those long staging lanes as well - drives me crazy. When you mashed the gas at 2000rpms, did you hear a brief scuff by the tires, or did the transmission bog down a little?
black03ss
I didnt hear any tire scuff , The trans didnt seem to bog at all but i still felt like normal take offs kind of slow till you get moving. Kevin
chiketkd
According to the test editors at 'Road & Track', AWD vehicles get the fastest launches when all four tires are allowed to spin briefly before hooking up. If this brief 'scuff' of the tires doesn't take place, then the transmission bogs down (revs drop slightly) and the resultant launch is compromised. On a side note, running your Silverado SS won't really help you for when you run your Chevelle. AWD and RWD are a whole world apart. Practice in an abandoned parking lot. black03ss
Yeah i know , but i was working on cutting a good light . It was just a little experience i was looking for and though the trucks not that fast it still got my heart pumpin. Kevin
