SS_bnoon_SS
Might just be a better place to have it installed than Midas... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Uhhhhhh, yeah, there might be a few places better than a national chain muffler shop! Unless you personally know someone that works at these shops and know that they can install a PERFORMANCE exhaust installation, steer far away from any chain store. If you want a performance exhaust, go to a performance shop that can do mandrel bends!
sandmanss
Off the subject a little but how is a cam and tune going to get you to 450 at the flywheel with the mods you have listed?
Simon
Let's take it from stock: Stock 345 HP CAI 5 HP Exhaust 10 HP Tune 25 HP Cam 55 HP -------- 440 HP That's conservative...450 hp is rounded up ! I should be expecting a gain 80-90 HP from the cam and tune combined. But with that fartin' mufffler I might consider -10HP Edited August 21, 2006 by Simon (see edit history)
Bonj87
after just spending the day under my truck putting in my flowmaster 50's, id have to say 1) that first pic.. WTF did he weld that for? there's a factory style clamp that goes there.. for a reason! if you need new Cats ever, you now have to cut that and re weld.. 2) interesting how he ran the pipes from the muffler out 3) 2.25 inches is way small.. i bought a 2.25 inch clamp for that same spot, and its not big enough, 2.5 inches was plenty big.. the stock size is 2.5 inches I think, so you're not gaining much IMO, other than a great sound. the rest of my system is 3.5 inches, until my tailpipe, which is 4.
