jaymoney
Im curious to know why everyone likes the long tubes better than the shorties. Do the long tubes make that much more power. I had shorties on my 96. I could definetly tell that i picked up some power. Has anybody had both. Or has anyone put them on the Dyno. Im stuck between JBA and Pacesetter. I had pacesetters on my 96. Thanks guys.
Black2003SS
Pace setters ROCK The biggest difference is how the exhaust gasses are scavenged out of the combustion chamber by long tubes versus shorties. You will notice a difference on the shorties, maybe 10-15 hp. Teh long tubes can yield double that in some cases. I have seen LS1 dyno reports with long tubes up to 28rwhp gains in certain setups. Either way you are probably talking about less than tenth in the quarter difference on a NA mostly stock engine. Superchargers are a whole different ballgame and benefit much more from long tubes. ChevySSandChevy8.1
I would definately go long tube. If your going to do so much work, might as well put in the longtubes. For the work you do might as well get the most gain. Shorties are not worth the effort in my opinion.
