  1. I remember almost buying an SRT-10 at a deal of around $60,000 CAN, instead I bought a SS with an MSRP of $57,000 CAN ha ha, cars are so much more expensive here. I love most of the SRT vehicles especially the the SRT-10 ram and the Grand Cherokee SRT8. I think the 20006 ram SRT with the upgraded front fascia was the nicest of them all, its too bad they ended production I'm all for a good looking truck with a big engine.
  2. Torque thrusts are always a good choice. The original rally wheels? I do like how big the lip on this wheel is I looked into something like this: AR-500 I don't want the rims to be too big, I just think it doesn't look right. If I go pro touring look, I'd go 18 max. Here is a picture of a charger with 20" rims.
  3. I'm hoping I can get something like this in chrome I've always been a fan of the old school Thanks, I'm hoping to use a 10" rim for the rear but some of the rim choices only have 8.5" as a maximum width. I hope the 8.5" would be fine if the rim I choose doesn't have a 10" option. Actually the rims on the car right now are American Racing vectors, I don't feel like building a general lee clone. I'm actually quite liking the cragar eliminators. I don't have pictures of my car, as stated the pictures are of an almost identical charger. Looks good but I'm likely looking for a 15-16" rim. By the way do you know what kind of rim that is?
  4. Hi guys and gals, its been a while since I've posted in the forum but I still check in every now and again. I've been missing my 1970 dodge charger ever since I sold it 6-7 years ago, so I finally took the plunge and bought myself a real nice 1969 Hemi Orange Charger which should be arriving in the next week or so. I really want to change the wheels while keeping the muscle car look. I have picked out a few that I think will look nice. I am planning on a 15" rim running a 245-265 up front and a 295 in the rear. I do not have pictures of my car on this computer, but I am attaching a picture of an almost idental charger. Let me know which rims you guys think looks best on the car, I am also open to suggestions. I would prefer a chrome wheel as the upkeep on polished aluminium is very high. Also what width of rim would I have to go with to run a 295 tire? Thanks The car looks like this minus the wheels http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/mat...pg?t=1252214994 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/mat...pg?t=1252214071 Wheel Choice 1:: Cragar 500 Eliminator chrome Wheel Choice 2: Cragar s/s supersport Wheel Choice 3: American Racing Torq Thrust D Chrome Wheel Choice 4: American Racing 200S Wheel Choice 5: American Racing T70R Wheel Choice 6: Cragar Super Supreme Edit: Added another wheel option wheel 6
  5. That's a soccer mom with some attitude.
  6. Here is what I suggest for vehicle security 1)I talked to my local performance GM shop and they highly recommend the jimmi jammer. Most theives rely on prying around the door handle or punching out the lock cylinder, so this will deter the majority as if it takes too long they rather move to the next one. Next step is to block hood entry using a hood jimmi jammer or blocking the access to the cable. 2) Next an immobilizer for the vehicle to prevent them from ever starting it. The immobilizers they recommended were: PFK Autowatch 329 Ti Immobilizer PFK Autowatch 573 PPi Immobilizer MasterGard M6000 Immobilizer Powerlock-Canada Immobilizer These can range fron $230-600 3) The final step is to add a system like Lo jack, which can help you find the vehicle quickly if it is stolen. http://lojack.com/ Typically about $600-700
  7. Unfortunately it sounds like a lot of us have been hit before. It irritates me so many honest hard working people have to deal with these low lives. I just ordered my jimmi jammer for the SS for 35 bucks without shipping. I also added the hood latch jammer so they can't open my hood from the outside for $40. With shipping it shouldn't be more than 90 bucks.
  8. I think it looks pretty cool. You've always been a fan of big rims, I think you were the first to go 24s on your SS back in the day. Good to see you modding the truck again.
  9. Very nice truck, I like the new look 100x better. Plus that carbon fiber sets off the engine bay.
  10. A few days ago someone tried to steal my escalade from the work parkade but got scared off. They spent time trying to punch in the lock cylinder on the driver side door and failed, but not to be detered they went around to the passenger side door and managed to punch out the lock cylinder. They got into the truck and proceeded to try and steal it, but instead grabbed some minor items like a parking pass, i pod connector and some old CDs. None the less they dented both doors in the process, cracked two door handle bezels, broke two lock mechanisms, and the plastic covering of the steering column. I proceeded to inform the police and went to the district office to write it up. The lazy officer proceeded to try and give me a run around saying that he couldn't write it up as the district office was closing in 40 minutes. After forcing the officer to do his job, I got the report and called insurance, which informed me of the 1000 deductable and the 2 week wait time for an appraisal. I would have gladly given the thieves my crap in the truck than go through all these inconvieniences they cause for just a few bucks worth of stuff. Unfortunately I've been informed that punching the lock cylinder or jimmying through the door handle is a known flaw in getting into these trucks. I've ordered a jimmi jammer and hood latch jammer for all my GM trucks now and an immobilizer is on the way. It's just annoying that we have to spend money on these kinds of deterents to enjoy our trucks. I am going to put this on my SS for sure and I recommend that you guys and gals do as well to protect your truck. Here's how they got into my truck: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/mat...ms/102_0923.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v626/mat...ms/102_0924.jpg Here's a link to the product I plan to buy: http://www.jimmijammer.com/Product,%20JJ.htm
  11. It's a well done job, but I think that motor doesn't work with the camaro. Muscle cars were about displacement and a v8 with a badass grunt. That 2JZ is a great motor and making a lot of power but it just doesn't sound right coming from the camaro. It seems completely out of place. Now its like a transvestite....
  12. Nice find, your gonna run out of space to store cars I did
  13. I think that would be a good choice. If we're on the topic of panther cars, how about the town car, a nice black town car. More luxury and there's got to be plenty of ex rental cars/private taxis that you can get for cheap. How about the Deville. All nice luxurious big cars that suit a bodyguard.
  14. Hi guys, I've decided on the Baer 6S system for the truck and was sent the template to see if the caliper would clear the custom wheels I have. The spokes on my truck are qutie large and have a slight curl inward making it appear that the caliper will contact the wheel. Have any of you guys had this issue before? Thanks
  15. Thanks Steve. I'm now sort of torn between the two choices for the baer or wilwood. Are there any other sway bar kits than hotchikis for these trucks? Still haven't got around to renovating the garage yet, its just too small For shocks, everyone seems pretty happy with the bilsteins so those are likely 99% for me. I just read about your shitty luck, thats rough, hope you got the truck fixed up. Everytime I come on here, your truck just keeps getting more amazing chase. I haven't investigated the brembo kit at all, do you know what the front and rear will cost? I've been shopping around and so far, it seems the Wilwoods would be about 2700 for fronts and 1500 for rears, quite similar to the baer 6s. I think I'll do the polyurethane sway bar bushings and endlinks as well, seems like a smart move. Since you have the alumnasport do you think the extra cash for the 6 piston setups are worth the cash, or are the alumnasports more than sufficient already? Very cool, with just the front kit is the braking uneven at all? How much was your kit? Thanks
  16. Hey guys, Haven't posted in a while, but I am finaly back to modding the SSS and want some feedback on some of the products I plan on using. I've searched a lot for the Wilwood Front had 16 inch 6 piston and found very few guys on the forum run this setup and the majority prefer the baer 6s extreme kit. I'm leaning towards the wilwood kit and I was wondering if you guys had any info on whether this would be a good choice. Furthermore I've been noticing the ride is getting a bit rough compared to normal and I'm planning on going with the bilstein shock upgrade and the hotchkis sway bar upgrade as well. Feedback on these products? Are there better choices? Thanks a lot
  17. Thanks guys, I appreciate all the kind words. I get so many looks and compliments on the car, more than any other vehicle that I've owned. I'm impressed with Unique Performances work, the car drives very nice and smoothly. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep this one for a while. I have all the Gone in 60 seconds parts with the car that I'm not sure if I want to put them on. I have the nitrous armed switch, the go baby go shift knob, the big nos bottle and the chrome fire extinguisher. I sort of prefer the hurst shift knob to the go baby go knob, but I'm not sure if I want to mount the nitrous or not. The car looks so much better in person than in any picture. Unique does great work on their cars but they do make you pay for it. Not yet, I'm looking into a much better camera before I start posting any clips. Sold the TBSS, I hardly drove it. I think there was 2000km on the vehicle when I sold it. I had it appraised before I brought it up (for insurance purposes) and the car was appraised at over 110 000 USD. ha ha, I have too many of the same type of vehicle right now. I've got the Jeep SRT8, an X5 4.8is ESS supercharged and the TBSS all performance SUVs. The beamer and the Jeep are at about the same speed, with the beamer being slightly faster and after putting that expensive kit on the beamer I don't really want to sell it. Plus the wife likes the beamer over the TBSS. I decided to get rid of the TBSS before it lost too much value. I've decided to keep the Jeep and eventually put a blower on it.
  18. With the recent departure of the Trailblazer SS, I decided to get a muscle car again. I've been looking for about a year at various camaros, chevelles, challengers, cudas and chargers, but finally found a car that caught my eye. It was a 1968 Ford Mustang GT500E (car from the Nicholas Cage gone in 60 seconds). It was just completed by Unique performance in Texas. It took about a month to get it through inspection to bring it to Canada, and I picked it up this weekend. It has a 427 cobra jet engine with 700 miles on it and is mated to a Tremtec 5 speed manual transmission. Runs real well and makes a lot of power sound extremely mean. This car turns more heads than the 550 maranello, i'm very pleased with it.
  19. Very nice, the chrome accents match your truck well
  20. That looks very nice and stock. Very nice work on your truck
  21. Congrats! Chase, your SSS really taking shape. Post up more progress pics and vids of the awesome truck!
  22. It's been a while since I've posted, hope all is well on silveradoss.com, but this year has been super busy for me. Unfortunately I haven't had as much time for the SS and put my plans for it on hold. However a few weekends ago, I managed to get some time to go to a track with some of my friends. Here are a few pictures from the meet. The SLR is my neighbours, the carrera GT is a good friend of mine, the GT40 and the turbo are coworkers cars. The 599 is the first in the city and is just a dealer car driven by the owner of the dealership. I'm highly considering trading in the maranello on the 599, I took it for a spin and was damn impressed with the car.
  23. I think its one of ferrari nicest looking coupes that they've built for a while, but I am biased.
  24. They are fast, i was impressed when I bought mine. Small aftermarket and minor problems, but not bad for the money.
  25. Its good that you caught him and made him pay up. His repairs are going to cost a lot too, when my 4.8is got rear ended it was about the same damage as that drunk's x5 and it cost three grand. Good luck with repairs.
