Holty
I was talking to someone and they told me that the series number (305/40/22) is a percentage of the tire width. Does anyone know the difference between the sidewall height of a 305/40/22 and a 285/45/22? yes, whoever you were talking to is correct. for the most part, people go by the numbers saying 305 is width, 40 is sidwall height, and 22 is rim size. however, the 305 and the 40 numbers are BOTH directly related to each. for example: you have a 305/40R22 and a 285/40R22 the 305 tire will be alot lower profile than the 285 tire even though they are both 40 series tires. make sense? Does anyone know the difference between the sidewall height of a 305/40/22 and a 285/45/22? Well, 305mm X .40 = 122mm and 285mm x .45 = 128.25mm, so the 285/45 will be .5" taller (overall diameter). r8rs4lf
Personally i would keep what ya got it looks pretty sweet to me. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I might just do that, I just wanted to see what other options were out there. It seems like most people don't have the same size aftermarket rims as I do. Most people have 22" X 9"-10". Mine are 8.5" wide so a 305 looks different on a wider rim. Stanley
Looks good to me, is your truck also lowered? If so how much and what did you use to lower it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks! My truck is lowered 2/3.5" or something like that using the McGaughy's deluxe kit for our trucks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Have you had any vibration problems? I'm probably used to it now.
