ss-dude
I got a question for the guys who have the Volant installed under the hood. Do you guys get the Volant Air Scoop for your CAI as well, or no? What can I expect out of getting the air scoop also?
popeye55
i built my own and i have no numbers to prove it works, but i notice alot more bugs and things in the box and air filter so it has to be getting air fairly well off the front. mine draws from the opening under the license plate. I haven’t had any problems with it, although I worry if it will get wet in rainy weather.

Going down the road at a good speed while it was raining, wouldn't the water work its way up the scoop and go into the box?
KissMySilvSS
I would be more worried about snow/rain freezing in the tube, and stuff like that...especially in Alaska.
ss-dude
Agreed. I'm going to pass on adding a scoop.
Stanley
Agreed. I'm going to pass on adding a scoop. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Adding the scoop increases your intake area almost 50%, and provides a ram air effect
