Radar Detectors

I'm looking to pick up a radar detector soon.  Leaning towards the new Escort 8500 X50.

Was wondering what everyone else was using.

most people here use valentines, a friend of mine has one its pretty nice to have but it goes nuts in the city. all of the security alarms and electronic doors set it off. but its saved his ass a good amount of times. i havnt been able to see one of the new passports but from the reviews ive read passports are better. I was probably just going to get a valentine and mount it above my mirror and hardwire it there

I was also thinkng about hard wiring it. I'd love to get the SR7, but $1,100 for a radar detector is a little too much.

Beltronics V995 very happy with it...although for $100 more you could go with valentine one.

:withstupid: I got the Bel Vector too, and it took me a good year to understand what it was telling me. Now that I know how to 'read' it I am pretty comfortable using it. I want to get a Valentine One because it has better sensitivity, but the top-of-the-line Bel Vector and Escort Passports are neck-and-neck for second pick IMO. I would not take any other brand/model on the market even if it was free. That said having a radar detector in the car will not make you invincible. Or invisible!
