dd0223
this is not an ss, since i sold mine a couple years ago (miss it very much) but thought someone here could help. i have an 04 silverado 5.3 and the oil gauge stopped working. the needle is all the way to the right and does not move at any time. is this the pressure sensor or something else? i have checked the oil and it is full. there are no other idiot lights illuminated. where is the pressure sensor located on the 5.3? any help would be nice. Thanks.
Bowtie70SS
Mine went bad and the oil gauge pegged...said 121psi on my scab gauge. The oil sending unit is located behind the intake on top of the engine, basically in the center. You will need a oil pressure socket although a 22mm may work also. That darn sending unit is like $45 though. D:ater Dave

Possibly a bad oil pump. Bad news is the possible causes only get worse from there. First thing I would do is change the oil and use a AC delco filter and some 10w30. Normal oil pressure should be at least 15-20 at idle and 40+ while driving. Dave
