I am not sure I follow the reasoning running them on an AWD truck. The reason for this is becuase they are designed to move the instant center of the car farther forward to plant the rear on the ground harder. This will essentially unload the front end even more than just a stock truck launch and create even more front wheel spin. I guess it is fine if you want the transfer case to then shift more power to the rear wheels to stop the front wheel spin. A couple problems I see is the time it takes the transfer case to do this, and since our trucks have a wimpy rear end it could cause a higher probability of failure in higher horse power trucks.
