26dub_SS Posted November 7, 2006 Report Share Posted November 7, 2006 (edited) I have a quick question guys...Im finally going to get an exhaust for my truck..im trying to make it as loud as possible..Would it sound louder if I make the pipes 3" thick or do I just leave it at 2.5"? What do you guys recommend. Also whats the difference between a super 40 and a 40 series flowmaster? misterp Posted November 7, 2006 Report Share Posted November 7, 2006 As a general rule the larger the tailpipe the more it will be like a megaphone. If you want obscenely loud go 3" on the pipes, and use a racing muffler like the dual Magnaflow mufflers (check out what Autoguy did). Mr. P.
