foxySS
Right behind the crossmember. Is this the rear seal? Driveshaft Seal? Whatever it is, it's leaking. I just had my truck to the transmission guy (for over 2 weeks) and he was supposed to fix the leak. I get back home, park my truck in the garage and then come out to inspect a couple hours later. Sure enough, it's still leaking. The only good news is I have a new 3000 stall and switched the billet servo out for a vette. It drives awesome now! So, getting back to the question- Any ideas? (BTW, I used one of chase's pics to illustrate.) Thanks Chase! Edited November 19, 2006 by foxySS (see edit history)

foxySS
Thanks Bman Does anyone know if the seal is commonly a problem with the output shaft? My truck seems to drive and shift just fine. Just hope something else (besides the seal) isn't failing inside the T-case. If you can move the slip yoke more than 1/8 of an inch inside of the transfer case then you needa bushing and a seal. Dave
misterp
It's also common to require the front slip yoke to be turned in a lathe to remove deep wear marks from contact with the old seal. Mr. P.

foxySS
You guys think its ok to drive it for a while if it's just the seal? The shop that I had the trans worked at is quite a ways away. I was going to bring it back by in a couple weeks to have it checked out to make sure all is good anyways. SSplaytoy
You will lose fluid all over the place. My input seal was leaking and I changed it the very next day. I guess you will be fine if you just watch your fluid level.
