Slick03ss
Just stumbled on this site after buying an 03 ss with 28,000 miles on it from one of my customers,,I got out of an 03 100th anniv Harley Edition ford f150, and was wondering about a couple of issues I've noticed,,,,first, when turning I keep hearing a clunk in the column and second are the gears/diff as noisy as I think they are? I love the truck, just wanted to make sure that I have no issues with it that are out of the ordinary. Nick
04CHASE
both are norma, the shaft clunk is normal in all late model gm trucks and suvs. the front diff is also known to growl , it may be covered under warranty depending on your local dealer, the shaft shoul ddefinatly be covered, but as of now its only a lube job. Slick03ss
No, it was the Harley Davidson 100th anniversary edition that ford produced,,basically a 4dr Lightning p/up, with Harley badging and paint scheme.

Fireman31
welcome to the site. Sorry, mine is too new to make those noises.
misterp
Welcome aboard Yes the two issues you've found are common. My '03 SS doesn't have the shaft clunk but my front diff is noisy decelerating through turns. Mr. P.
nixsupersport
welcome, and the noises sound like they are the common ones that we have all discussed already
