04CHASE
its been in the news for a bit but no one has said what engine it will have yet, some say it will have a smaller supercharged v8 . only time will tell but they have shown pics with the hood scoop like pictured. it will be interesting to see what it ends up being. rivierakid55
i thought i remember hearing that it couldnt be an ls7 as the cylinder walls were too thin to accept a maggie as longevity might be an issue.
SuperSport
I found this on a digitalcorvettes a while back. It is claimed to be the LS9 6.2L supercharged 650hp unit going into the super Z06 vette.
montanass
I thought it was called the Blue Devil, not an SS.... since when do they make a corvette SS... sounds kinda redneck... I think corvette says it all IMO...
SSleepingbeauty
Here's more info, rumor's, blah blah blah http://corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/for...splay.php?f=

It is claimed to be the LS9 6.2L supercharged 650hp unit going into the super Z06 vette. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One of our engineers at work recently visited the engine plant in Michigan and he spoke with some of the head GM guys about many different engines and then came across this one and they were very reluctant to comment about anything to do with this engine but they did very soon after start talking about the new camaro and the potential they will have with the power options for that car. I think this is a very smart idea as far as the way they ran the supercharger on this engine. There will be much less restriction here compared to the magnuson unit. tawss04
I would mind having it, no matter what engine is in it. 650HP hell yea. Just for info, back in the 50's when they started work on the vette for racing it had the SS badge, thats where it started.
ssbaezaj4
I just got that issue of Road & Track today, SS Corvette sounds nice, but the sticker price is what throw's it off.. $100,
chpspecial
100k for 650hp and even better performance than the current z06 is not bad. especially when it will be able to kick just about anything this side of a vyron's ass
KJT13
i like everything about it aside from the SS moniker. the vette doesn't need it. never had it, never should. if they don't wanna make it a Z, then bring back the Stingray nameplate.
