Cursed1
I have a 04 SS that has a stock 6 disc in-dash, radio, xm, etc. I would really like to have the factory navigation unit that is in some of the SS trucks or SS Trailblazer. What is needed to make this happen? Will I lose any funtionality? What is the cost and where do you get the parts? Thanks ahead of time. Jim Coher
Check out these links. They will point you in the right direction. Make sure you have an amp and HU that are compatable. I have a connection for NAV units at reasonable prices. If you need one I can get a package deal and the units are set up so you don't have to go to the dealer. PM me with your info and I'll get you a price. http://duramax.onlinedesk.net/navinstall/ http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40437

kelleyperformance
kit from GM will run you about $2180, at a good price. plus install of course..... this being from GM retains all functions you currently are euqipt with
perk03z06
kit from GM will run you about $2180, at a good price. plus install of course..... this being from GM retains all functions you currently are euqipt with I can get them for you ... the NAV head for $1350 ... GPS Antenna for $75 and the GM NAV DVD for $250. Total ... $1675. $2180 is ... damn stealerships. Something to consider ... you will lose your 6-CD changer if you get the NAV head ... no more keeping 6 CD's in your radio ... which is why I opted for aftermarket & went w/ a 7" touchscreen & a Windows In-Car computer. About the same price ($1675) will get you a full WIN XP computer you can install in your truck ... and you can have more functionality than a GM NAV Head. Internet ... email ... DVD playback ... GPS ... Bluetooth ... just like having your PC in your home in your truck ... Just something to consider ... Vortec MAX
You know the Garmin Nuvi is a better nav system than the factory in dash units at a fraction of the price. The updates for factory systems are VERY expensive also. Updates for the Garmin Nuvi (about once every three years) are around 110 bucks. Plus, the Garmin Nuvi has a built in MP3 player. The 660 even has a wireless transmitter built in to play the MP3s over the factory stereo. It would also announce directions and street names over the stereo. Just a thought. I have the Nuvi, and would not own anything else. Plus, I can use it in another vehicle, or keep it if I sold my truck. Mike

nuzman
I hope the attached link works http://www.abesofmaine.com/item.do?item=DL...mp;l=PRICEGRABB Delphi makes a drop in kit with everything you need that keeps all of the factory functionality including XM and steering wheel controls. Abe's of Maine has the cheapest NIB price I've seen so far. There is also a guy on E-bay that's been listing them new for around $1400 and refurbs for about $1000. There are three different models depending on whether you have a luxury version like a Denali/Escalade, a standard Silverado or a Trailblazer. If you're doing an upgrade to a Silverado (I'm not sure about an SS) then you do need to conect it to your VSS wire. I believe the Delphi unit comes with a splice kit. I asked for one for my birthday. I'll keep you posted. Edited April 4, 2007 by Nuzman (see edit history)
