plamen
I'm planning to install a VKE1000 keyless entry and possibly VSC3300 alarm modules into my new 1500 Classic. Will appreciate if someone help me a bit by suggesting the wire colors and location of the following wires. Power supply: 1. +12 V constant power 2. +12 V switched power Control wires or driving wires, (please indicate): 3. parking lights 4. domelight 5. horn I'll test the wires anyway, but knowing what color to look for will help Thanks! plamen
Well, I got frustrated last time and didn't install the alarm but only the remote keyless entry and unfortunately last April the truck got stollen. Now I have the same 2007 Silverado 1500 Classic, but this time it's LT1 option so it has a factory alarm. I'm still trying to install additionally the VSC3300 since it offers extra protection through the motion sensor. The main problem remains finding appropriate door lock/unlock analog signals for arming/disarming the aftermarket alarm. Door modules are operated by data buss, so I need some interface to read this data and produce + or - signals when door lock/unlock buttons of the remote are pressed. I was wondering if extra door module from some GM vehicle could do the job if the data buss is connected in parallel. In all descriptions for power lock/unlock I could find DEI 1700G1 (later replaced by XK01 that I have) provides only one OUTPUT from the door trigger for triggering the alarm. Door lock and unlock are INPUTS, when grounded they generate the digital signal to lock/unlock the doors. I actually need the opposite, some interface to READ this digital data and OUTPUT +12V or ground signals for arming/disarming VSC3300. I was wondering if I could use alternatively the factory arm/disarm signals if they are analog (level shifting using additional simple electronics is no problem for me). Running two wires from the door latch all the way to VSC3300 may be difficult but still remains the last resort. Any ideas? Thanks!
