2003SilvSS
I drive my SS quite a bit. I'm coming up on 75,000. My right arm/elbow rides on the arm rest in the same spot. It started to get really shinny, and about a month later it started to get a small crack. Needless to say, it's beyond a small crack now and it's getting more of them. It bugs the heck out of me because it kind of pinches your skin if you move just right. Any ideas on how to fix this? I know, don't use the arm rest, but it's what's normal to me. Thanks. Rays B4U
I'd check with the dealer and or wrecking yard and see what a replacement one would cost before you try fixing it.
pimp ss
we recover those all the time for 100 dollars because a new armrest costs around 200 dollars Edited February 20, 2007 by pimp ss (see edit history)
2003SilvSS
Would I need to find a nice upholstery shop that would be able to do this? I'd rather have it recovered than buying one at a salvage yard. But if I'm not satisfied with that, I can buy just a new arm rest? Thanks for the replies. Brian This happened to me in my 2001 Silverado LT so I made sure not to use them much in the SS. Let us know what solution you go with and the cost
Vtec Max
This seems to be a common problem for Vinyl materials. My armrest in my Tahoe is the same way. Your best bet is just go to get it redone with vinyl again. Replacement would be more costly.
fordsareslow
My drivers side is doing it as well. I'm going to probably just get some Katzkin for the whole truck eventually.
