NebraSSka truck
I just installed one of these on my tailgate. Its kinda nice for when your hands are full and your trying to lower the tailgate with one hand. It prevents the tailgate from slamming down also. Just spreading the word! smithl3
Does it give you just as much resistance to lift the gate back in place??
smit
No. there is no added resistance lifting up. I've had one for about 6 months. I like it a lot.

Barney
This works pretty well. I got one of Ebay for cheaper than the manufacturer advertises the price at. Works great unless its really really cold out and it tends to move a little slow on those days. But I am talking -10 to 10 degrees out. Really well designed and easy to install in about 4 minutes. SSThunder
I'm sure it's a nice item but $70 is steep plus I don't see much of a need for it. The cables stop the tailgate from smacking the bumper. You could probably make the same thing for about $10 or less.
