0 Admin Mervz Posted March 18, 2007 Admin Report Share Posted March 18, 2007 We have decided to put a limit on the time frame for which people can edit their posts. Allowing someone edit a post at anytime, we felt, only provided a buffer for people to say derogatory things, only to delete them when they got criticized for saying it. By putting a time limit on how long you can edit a post after you've first made it, we hope members will stop and think about what they type, knowing that if they say something that isn't helpful, they can't run, hide, and act like it never happened. Just trying to insert some social responsibility here. We didn't publicize the change simply because we didn't want to make a big deal about it. Sorry for the confusion. We currently have these limits set on how long a member can edit a post after they have first made it. Members (members with under 5 posts)- 15 minutes Senior Members- 60 minutes Supporting Members- 90 minutes Thanks everyone.

0 Krambo
That is fine however, I have had posts that I wish to edit that have been posted for a year or more. I have NO access to the EDIT button. Case in point: My post on "Crank Shaft Pulley Pinning" in the How-2 section is all messed up for some reason. The pictures were in order within the post and now they are all at the bottom of the post which really confuses the purpose of a "How-2". I just want to insert the pictures in the post where needed. How can I accomplish this?
0 Stitches040
So what your saying Zane .... is that I should not really speak my mind on the "I got a speeding ticket and can't afford to pay it, because my insurance will go up, but I just filled my bottle of NOS" .... because after 90 mins ... I'm "Locked" into my opinion ..... ?????? Hmmmm .... this really might get to be fun!!!!!
0 foxySS
Honestly, I think that policy SUCKS! I'm trying to lower a price for something I have in the For Sale section and it won't let me now.
0 foxySS
One other thing. I think that there should at least be no editing limits on the For Sale/Wanted Section. In addition to not being able to change the price, you can't put "SOLD" at the top- which let's everyone know that so they don't waste their time and get their hopes up without reading the whole topic.
