chevygal
Actually, you could end up hurt or killed by hitting the deer if it came up and into the windshield. I'd have swerved.
Hankg42
I think it's just instinct to swerve to avoid something that jumps in your path, whether it be another vehicle, a person, or an animal. In that split second, it might not be possible to make a real decision, unless you may have had extensive high performance driving training. With that experience, maybe you can choose your path. Tough choice, either way. But, glad you're OK and the truck is fixable.

Porno Joe
Sorry to hear about your truck. It doesn't look like it will be too tough to repair. How did you and your friend hit the steering wheel, OH console and windshield if you had your seatbelts on? I never wear a seat belt and neither does my friend. No bags went off thank god. Can you still drive a truck if the bags do go off?
Fireman31
I never wear a seat belt and neither does my friend. No bags went off thank god. Can you still drive a truck if the bags do go off? Trust me dude, seatbelts save lives, I know first hand. This should have convinced you that its time to start buckling up. Sorry about the Intimidator, glad you and your passengers are okay. The damage doesn't look too bad. On the topic of hitting animals, it is a tough call. My attitude is grin and bear it........you are better off plowing into the deer than going off the road and smacking a tree, especially without a seatbelt on! Oh and yes, the truck should still be moveable if the bags are deployed, depending on how much damage there is of course. Can you still drive a truck if the bags do go off? how do you not wear a seat belt? i guess i could understand if you were 800 lbs and it literally couldnt fit around you but what other reason do you have for not wearing one? Porno Joe
I don't wear a seatbelt by simply ignoring the stupid chime when I start my truck. I just see no purpose to wear one. I don't wear a helmet when I ride a motorcycle, so why a belt in a truck? I know this should convince me, but it won't. I guess the bottom line is I just don't like wearing it. perk03z06
Oh man, that is a sad sight. Glad your ok. I do beleive that the right thing to do is to not swerve when an animal jumps out in front, but I think it would be hard to stop yourself from swerving. faceliftedss
not wearing a helmet on a bike is crazy talk, have you ever seen someone who has had a head injury from even like a 25 mph crash? look at ben rothlisberger. and most of the time it won't be the bikers fault but your the one who will end up hurt. sad to see another wrecked ss, but glad your ok
NashSS
OMG... did you hit a cow? Um no i didnt hit a cow. Thats what a 99 xtreme looks like after hitting a 7 point buck doing 70 mph with only a chance to say "Oh shit" and the POW! Shit happens but it still breaks my heart because I loved that truck but it got me my SSS so im not that upset.
