Leak From Muffler?

Recommended Posts

I just noticed a puddle running from under my truck. As I took a closer look, I noticed that water or something was leaking from the bottom of the rear of the muffler... Any ideas?

Several newer Chevys I have owned have done the same thing, it's a condensation vent to drain the muffler...

Mine does the saem thing... It's a machined hole... as said above....I could see it as being a problem later!

If that hole wasn't there it would be a problem down the road......the condensation (byproduct of the cat) would rot out your muffler over time. The hole being there allows the water to drain extending the life of your muffler. :driving:
