ChevyMan23 Posted June 9, 2007 Report Share Posted June 9, 2007 So i got 1/2 a tank of bad gas..i mean real bad......realized after driving a few miles and threw some premium and gas treatment in to help it out...bout have it all out now...gonna replace my fuel filter....im at 45,000 miles anyway...jus go with a factory style or is there anything better to look for?....thanks. misterp Posted June 9, 2007 Report Share Posted June 9, 2007 Sorry to hear about that - first, I would add several gallons of toluene to the existing bad fuel. Fuel filter, no I would just get a replacement Fram at Walmart. Is your truck a '03, or '04-later? '03 fuel filters are easy to switch out (on the frame rail), the '04+ are inside the fuel tank. 04CHASE Posted June 9, 2007 Report Share Posted June 9, 2007 well the fun part is replacing the filter will require dropping the tank. but they say they are good for a long time so i would just run new gas and check fuel pressure. man im glad ill never have to drop my tank to change a filter agian.
